To be annoyed at the vacuum cleaner repair business?

What the fuck?

My dyson is not sucking up. Motor fine, as suction through the attachments. Internet search for local person to fix it. The ads all came up after my specific "vacuum repairs in Portishead".
On ringing, I am told, "our specialist engineer can be with you by Wednesday or Thursday to pick it up".
I ask, "Will it be quicker if I drop it off? I live in the locality."

"No we are a national company...."

What happenned to the man with a van or the local repair shop? I don't want to deal with big national companies who book my appliance in and then take a month and £200 plus vat to fix it.

Fuck off multinational repair companies, you suck, take ages and there are hardly any local businesses left.

I am someone who would never buy carpets off Carpet right or whatever, I like to go local to the person with van and I know I am unreasonably incensed at this. I also have unvacuumed floor anxiety now too.

The person at the end of the line actually asked me, "and how long has it been like this?". As if! My vacuum cleaner is not sucking up, so yeah, it been a month, month and a half Hmm. I didn't actually say that though.

I have a fantastic local man who services and repairs all household appliances, I'm based over the water in s Wales so I don't know if be would collect from Bristol. But if you want the number pm me. He fixed my dyson for £25 and its like new now.

Dyson have their own repair/service team. Its a fixed price every year or so I have them come out to mine, fix everything including hose, brushes and the cyclone bit. Think its about £65 and I end up with an as new hoover.

Sorry, I meant if you couldn't find a true local repair man in your area.

Dysons are too heavy too complicated and the trade will not touch them with a ten foot pole ..Get a Henry or a Hetty (Pink) or if you really must have an upright a SEBO (Dont smash the front into the skirting , the electronics are in the front).
