Aibu to be furious with my work colleague?

I work with about 20 other people in a medium size store. I had the day off and was helping out with childcare for one of my colleagues, stupidly both of us forgot to mention when friend would be finishing work and what time she would pick her child up.

I knew she couldn't answer her mobile, so I rang the store to ask to speak to her. Rang and a different colleague answered and said she wasn't available right now. It was left at that.

It all got sorted anyway.

Went into work yesterday and my supervisor says in a slightly jokey way - "what are you doing ringing my staff during working hours"

Lots of people ring into work, such as partners and children - not for lengthily chats, just ringing up to ask a question so I never saw a problem with it.

I was slightly annoyed as I felt the colleague who had answered the phone had clearly gone and told my supervisor that I'd rang. I also told the colleague I was slightly annoyed about it when I was leaving work and he actually followed me out to my car to talk about it further. He can thrive off drama.

During that day I'd been called into the office by my manager to have a chat about something completely irrelevant and I have now found out from a mutual colleague that male colleague has been telling people I got called into the office for making personal calls to work.

Angry

Yanbu - he sounds like a knobber! Do you have other problems with him?

I generally do not like him as a person as he is very much a gossip and loves drama so I generally stay clear of him.

He's the type of person who will ask you a question, such as - did you have a good weekend?
You reply - yes thanks it was ---
And he interrupts and starts talking about what he did over the weekend.

Complain to line manager about his shit stirring, if it does help see the bullying policy or grievance procedures to stop it before he stresses you out further.
