To be upstairs with a glass of red keeping away from IL's!

It's been a long week so far and still a couple of days to go before my house is back to normal. I can't do anything without MIL saying "I'LL DO THAT!" but then I catch her saying to FIL when asks if she's tidying up "well SOMEONE'S got to do it!". FIL also annoyed me yesterday when my friend called to give a birthday present to DD. Both IL's were getting agitated because dinner was timed for 6pm precisely so they're pacing up and down with miserable expressions while me and friend were chatting. Then FIL pipes up "right, shall we dish up then?!" Shock so bloody rude.
Sorry just needed to vent a little... And..breathe!

hwjm I think a lot of the problem was FIL was of a generation where he didn't ever lift a finger. MIL did it all. I dread to think what would have happened had he outlived her.

MIL is constantly shocked by ho much DH can and is willing to do in the house. However MIL also never had to work while her DC were growing up as FIL had a good job. They also lived abroad and had staff.
