... to wonder why I have breakdown cover?

Reviewing our DDs and noted that we paid £272 for joint membership of the AA (other breakdown organisations are available Wink) for the year. Really? We last called them out in 2009 and that was the first time in years. Would we be cheaper not having any cover and joining when the car breaks down (which it would about a week after we cancelled no doubt).

I get free AA roadside assistance and homestart with my Halifax bank account. When I broke down I just had to quote my bank account number over the phone and all was good. Bargain, I thought. Bank account costs £5 a month with lots of other extra goodies on top, like travel cover etc.
