Age restrictions on water slides

I have booked a holiday on a campsite in France, through a large UK tour operator.

I booked on the basis on the info on their website, which states that children need to be 10+ to use the water slides. I have since received the paper brochure and that states 12+.

DS2 will be 10 when we travel, if DS2 is able to use the slides, but DS2 can't it will spoil the holiday (to some small extent) for all of us.

I have spoken to the tour operator. Initially, the member of staff seemed to think I was fussing over nothing, he'll probably be OK etc etc. I insisted that someone at the company thought it was important enough that it needed mentioning in the brochure and asked heR to check, which she reluctantly agreed to do. That was on Saturday and I have still not had a answer, despite chasing again by telephone.

I know that the reality is probably that it won't be enforced, but it might be. I know that ultimately, DS2 would have to live with it, but the site was specifically chose for it's pool facilities and both boys are excited about them. So, before I start making a proper fuss, AIBU to want proper clarification before we travel?

yanbu, but in reality, you'll be fine. they're very unlikely to check everyones ages.

I would simply tell your DS2 that for the holiday he IS 12. Smile

YANBU though, I'd want to know for sure just how enforced the rule is before travelling.

That's ridiculously old, 8 plus or a fairly low hight is all I've ever seen.

DD2 is a water shoot monster and has happily done them since she was very little.

Centre parks had her show she could swim well enough before letting her go down the rabids and she literally brushed the hight limit at Disney.

I think lying is the order of the day, but jolly incompetent not to make it clear.
