Lego advertised in the Sun

Am I being unreasonable? but I have decided never to buy Lego again until they stop advertising in the Sun. I also want to ban boobs in the Sun Newspaper on page 3......I work in schools occasionally and I am sick of all the nudity in newspapers I use to make artwork with young children. I also am sick of Amazon not paying taxes, and extremely sick that they were selling Tshirts praising rape and the murder of women.....what kind of world do we want for our children.

lifes too short.

If your child likes lego and you would like to buy it, then do it.

As I said in my first post, so many people just wilfully do not get the issue.

Most young boys see a lot more in the swimming pool changing rooms.

Yes, in a context when nudity is normal and expected. Getting undressed to go swimming. There is no requirement, nor context, for breasts in a daily newspaper, where the news is reported.

Because boobies are so offensive? Have you ever visited the National Portrait Gallery? You may need a lie down afterwards...

Breasts - or, if you prefer, 'boobies' Hmm - are not in the least bit offensive. I would fully expect to see some nudity in the NPG, in galleries around the world, in sculpture, and in a myriad other art forms. Not in a daily newspaper where people get their news.

Any teacher not a total plank takes any of the dodgy pages out of the newspaper before putting it in the table...

'Dodgy' is an interesting choice of word. Why is something 'dodgy' in a daily newspaper - where people are getting their news - in the first place?

If people need naked breasts so badly, then why don't they choose to source them in the plentiful other places where they're freely available, and leave newspapers for reporting news?

AIBU is never the best forum for this discussion. People just wilfully do not get it...

What's with the anti-boob thing? Do you blindfold your kids when you breastfeed?

AmberLeaf · 06/03/2013 22:46

Your children seeing you breastfeed/get changed is very much different from your children seeing glamour models in the daily rag.

Lego's contract with the Scum has ended

A woman in a sexually provocative pose is not akin to natural, healthy nudity. It is always focused on the female form too, objectifying women.

Seeing naked adults at swimming, your parents bathing, mum breastfeeding , isn't sexualising or objectifying anybody. Nudity is not the issue.

HeadfirstForHalos · 06/03/2013 23:30

There's nothing unnatural or unhealthy about women or men looking sexually provocative in the correct context by the way, my point was with children in mind. I quite enjoy my dh being sexy and provocative Grin

MidnightMasquerader · 07/03/2013 01:09

Sorry, WMittens, I'm clearly being a bit slow today.

What's breastfeeding got to do with naked breasts in a newspaper?
