Made a purchase from a hight street store. Did not check receipt immediately. Upon my return i realised I had been overcharged 30p.
Emailed co concerned and they have asked me to the the receipt.
Seriously why would i lie for 30p.
AIBU to think they should take my word for it or at least just ask mefor receipt no etc?

Of course they have to see your receipt! You're saying they have made a mistake, money is involved, they need proof. I don't think they'd handing out any amount of money like that, word would get out Smile

There's other information on the receipt too, store, cashier, till etc, which makes it easier for them.

Of course they shouldn't have overcharged you in the first place to cause you this hassle btw.

Why would they trust you regardless of the amount, they have to go by their own company policy, which would be proof.

In my job the amount of people that come in trying to chance their arm is ridiculous. Its only 30p I don't see what the fuss is.

Surely though they could just ask me for transaction code etc.

Also they must surely be able to check the price of item on their tills and see the discrepancy.
