Oh yes, I saw that and thought 'Hurray for MN!'

I think the site is an invaluable public resource in general - the Relationships board alone is a standout. If I ever need to leave DH and take the kids (although we're currently very happy thank you) I know exactly what I would need to do!

Also, Chat makes me smile Grin

Wewereherefirst · 03/03/2013 22:03

I heard it yesterday and I wad very proud of Mumsnet and it's clout.

You lot are awesomes Grin

HerrenaHarridan · 03/03/2013 22:11

What t shirts? Hi Herrera!

maddening · 03/03/2013 23:07

I was googling the news about the tshirts and found a blog where the blogger is claiming to be the instigator of the tshirt thing that it was his blog that sparked the whole thing off.

lurkedtoolong · 03/03/2013 23:08

Um, it wasn't just MN. In fact I saw the complaints about it in loads of places before MN....

BubblegumPie · 03/03/2013 23:21

If that's true lurked it doesn't make MN efforts mean any less. One person must have started it all off, but they couldn't have got the end result without the help of others

SarkyPants · 03/03/2013 23:25

Agree with lurked.
I saw this first on twitter.
Not saying that my isn't fab though :)

Sarahplane · 03/03/2013 23:26

I'm proud too.

ImperialBlether · 03/03/2013 23:28

I was proud anyway!

maddening · 03/03/2013 23:37

Am also proud of mn :) glad he wasn't taking mn credit as was feeling quite indignant in thinking he had :)

FayKnights · 03/03/2013 23:46

I've just seen the story and had a cheer to myself.

Herrena · 04/03/2013 07:29

Tshirts with horrible (albeit randomly computer-generated) slogans like 'Keep calm and rape a lot', herrenaharridan. A MNetter spotted it and incited the rest of us to raise hell with the company concerned. They are now off the virtual shelves, hurrah! :)

BikeRunSki · 04/03/2013 08:35

I saw it in The Observer yesterday. The article didn't mention MN by name, but I knew. I was following the MN thread on Friday.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 04/03/2013 08:52

Yay ! Great campaign and not a bad apology. Good result !

Agree mumsnet is awesome in many ways, especially in support offered in some key areas ..... first weeks with new baby, breastfeeding, relationships - especially where there's EA, brave babe's bus, TTC, miscarriage and peri-natal loss, loss of a child, stately homes (YKWIM), abuse and rape survivor support,
at a loose end and fancy a chat Grin .... etc. etc (think that covers most of the biggies)

A very friendly, almost cuddly at times, nest of vipers - never slow to offer a Brew or a Biscuit .... or even an un-Mumsnetty hug Grin

Advice, campaigns, protests, & wooley hugs all looking pretty strong too !

TheElephantIsADaintyBird · 04/03/2013 08:57

Ooh I didn't know it was MN, haven't been on in a while. I saw it on the 'no more page 3' Facebook page.

What sort of person would even think of designing t-shirts like that? Confused

JugglingFromHereToThere · 04/03/2013 09:03

Apparently it was "randomly generated" with loads of others ... but didn't they think that process might cause trouble ? or think to check the results ?

AliceWChild · 04/03/2013 09:03

I saw it lots off MN before seeing it here. However I was baffled why it made the news and the company were making ridiculous excuses up apologising, as there are so so many similar products that don't get any coverage. So maybe that's why, as I've seen the power of MN in getting things in the press before.

BubblegumPie · 04/03/2013 16:36

this shit is still being sold

We may have won the battle, but we have not yet won the war! Keep soldiering on keyboard warriors of Mumsnet!
