to not understand the hatred for Kristen Stewart?

I will say that Bella Swan as a character is quite lame in my opinion BUT Kristen Stewart plays the character well.

Bella has some bad traits and is very much a Mary-Sue.

People have such a hatred for Twilight on here and seem to assume that Kristen is actually Bella and post photos of her with the same expression for each emotion as hilarious and original.

I have seen a few of her other films (Welcome to the Rileys, On the Road etc) and I think shes a great actress and can play different characters well and find it hard to have such a hatred for her.

She's a terrible actress and ruined Snow White, her 'acting' was so awful it distracted from the story, I kept thinking 'wtf is she doing with her face', will never see a movie she's in again.

meh I thought snow white was good, but we all have our own opinion on that. surely if you know you dont like her you avoid films she is in?

Have you watched any interviews with her trikken? I thought the way you did until I saw her being interviewed. Same awkward faces, same stilted talking, same "shy" ducking of her head, same hair tosses. She just plays herself in every film haha! I still like her films though

She's an alright actress I suppose, in that she can play the parts well enough.

Don't really know her as a person, though didn't approve of her fling with a married producer/director (and couldn't help wondering if she'd have had that fling if he'd been a binman).

I do think there's triple confusion (perhaps even quadruple) - Bella, The Actress, her public persona and her private personality... most people can only comment on 3 of those, so far, I am not keen those 3.

But I don't hate her. I'm utterly apathetic about her.

My only opinion of her is that she must be stark raving mad to shag director whatsisname when you have RPatz at home

I have seen photos of her in the press however and she does look like she needs a wash!

YANBU OP. Hatred for celebs like Chris Brown or any other celebs who hurt people or committed crimes, I get it and many people probably frown on her for cheating along with her director-twat, her acting people can take/leave/love or dislike but those people tend not to hate.

There's some real rabid hate which is mainly seen by fangirls and in fandom. However sometimes that spills out onto other things and you might not reognise that it's a rabid fangirl - not to be confused with normal fangirls, rabid fan girls would devour the 'person of their dreams', slate/revile/be nasty towards dislikers or critiques and get wet pants or broken Y-fronts from the celebs name.

This happens with a lot of celebs as well: Beiberites, Twihards, tinhats etc.

MidnightMasquerader, a mary sue is a fanfic phrase that has spread into other things. It means someone perfect, without flaws, who takes away from everyone else, a self insert of the author and way of them wanking all over their story about themselves using this character. It doesn't really apply in the same way though because they are the main characters, as opposed to what the term was originally coined for. Mary Sues or Gary Stus are OC characters in fic who take over everything, overshadown the main characters or storylines, are unflawed and loved by all.
