not judge me on having put my 3.10 old in the pram and made my 2.11yr old walk/ride on the hood as my 3yr old is ill and we needed to get medicine

there was no way i would have managed to convince the 3yr old to walk and she is much to heavy to walk/ride on the hood!!

honestly she gave us the medicine then went to open the door took one look at my oldest dd and was like i think she should be walking!! i mean WTAF! she's not well and for all this woman knew she may not have been able to walk long distances / at all.

she is normally fit and healthy and this is the first time she has been in a pram in absolutely months but it REALLY annoyed me! grr

Unfortunately we come from a society where everyone seems to judge one another.
Just ignore ignorant people, don?t let it upset you day.

YANBU at all. I have a 2.10 DS and a 6 month old DD. ds is usually pretty good at walking while I push dd however last week his legs got tired, and he wanted me to lift him. Rather than lift him I asked did he want to ride in the pram for a while and I would lift the baby out, as she's much lighter and easier to carry!

All was fine until some interfering old bat came up and said to him 'what do you think your doing in your poor sisters pram, that poor baby should be in there.' I wish I had of told her to piss off but I just muttered something inaudible and walked away, I hate confrontation! Sad

It's no ones business what way we transport out kids, as long as they are happy then we are doing a good job! Smile

ive had a long day and night with her, she is really grumpy when she's ill and is winding her sister up, who now looks like she is coming down with the same bug! im stressed and tired and annoyed and this just made everything worse

not at all helped by the way she was grumpy when she realised we do the pharmacy first scheme and so i wasn't going to pay for the extra calpol i also wanted

I pushed my poorly 5 year old ds to the docs in his sisters pink and black buggy as its too close to drive and too far to walk (when poorly obvs). ds was sat there, face flushed eyes half closed and he looked poorly. I couldn't believe it when a random woman started questioning why he was in the buggy? She got short shrift.

taxi4ballet · 01/03/2013 15:47

Take a deep breath, count to ten (or maybe a hundred!), have a cup of tea and tell yourself that this assistant just has a bad attitude and probably got out of the wrong side of bed this morning.

At least you don't have to work with her... !

MummyPig24 · 01/03/2013 15:51

My 5yo ds sometimes rides in the buggy if his sister wants to walk. And not necessarily when he is ill!

Writehand · 01/03/2013 16:13

Poor you! Try to ignore rude ill-informed people like this, though it's easier said than done.

Softlysoftly · 01/03/2013 16:18

Oh so annoying. Fwiw I'm going back to work next week and am buying a trandam stroller for dd2 (9m)and dd1 who is 3.5yrs. My mil wants to take them out to park pre school and isn't confident enough to allow dd1 to walk neat the busy roads.

I'd rather they got some fresh air than givea shit about what others think. I am fully expecting judgement at the buggy shop!

Strangemagic · 01/03/2013 16:19

I took my 6 year old to the doctors in his brothers pushchair......glad I did he ended up going to the hospital in an ambulance Sad

Softlysoftly · 01/03/2013 16:19

I also can't type Hmm

5madthings · 01/03/2013 16:21

My poorly almost five yr old was in the pushchair yesterday whilst 26mth old dd was walking. It was a good half an hour walk and he was shattered, the toddler loves to walk so made perfect sense!

CunfuddledAlways · 01/03/2013 17:11

made feel better knowing this =] i should come out with "sorry did you mean to sound so rude" next time i was just too flustered and annoyed to even think i did grumble all the way home, it made me smile when dd1 went 'why you not like the lady she gave me nice medicine'....its been a loooong day!!

ohh bless you, hope you dd is feeling better soon

sounds to me like the woman didnt even realise what she'd said had upset you. Doesnt sound like she deliberatly set out to be rude. Dont give it a second thought because she wont have! ppl can be daft n thoughtless sometimes.

Dont let it ruin your day Smile

CunfuddledAlways · 01/03/2013 17:33

feeling much better though i think its going to be a long night as dd2 is now moaney and clingy! and got work next 2 days ugh going to be exhausted

NoTeaForMe · 01/03/2013 19:15

I don't think you were in the wrong at all and any believe the woman took it upon herself to make a comment!

I don't understand what you mean by travelling on the hood though? It seems to be clear to everyone else but I'm confused!

CunfuddledAlways · 01/03/2013 19:49

i have a ff pram so the hood is nearest me i sit baby on it with the clips down and she hold on to the handles of the pram which i push it from so i know she will not fall etc
