You can watch old QIs on Dave. I love that programme.

GregBishopsBottomBitch · 28/02/2013 21:58

I dont get Dave, that fact still annoys me. Or Gold either.

That's a shame. Perhaps your TV needs retuning or you need a new aerial.

LadyPessaryPam · 28/02/2013 22:09

YANBU, don't do it, download stuff to your computer instead.

eztv.it/
utorrent and VLC player all you need.

zippy539 · 28/02/2013 22:14

' I felt the same so I have told them I don't want a licence and I got a refund.
We only watch iplayer on catchup which is legal.'

Fluffy 0 if you feel, like the OP, that the BBC is 'shit' then why do you watch BBC progs on the iplayer??? Bit confused.

Legal or not if you're watching them then pay for them. Duh.

GregBishopsBottomBitch · 28/02/2013 22:44

Bun we cant get strong freeview, we live in a shit area, and the feel channels from the sky box doesnt include Dave or Gold.

OP posts:
Bunbaker · 28/02/2013 22:59

Can you not get BBC3 or BBC4 either?

GregBishopsBottomBitch · 28/02/2013 23:00

Yeah through the sky box i can.

OP posts:
2tired2bewitty · 28/02/2013 23:04

But how do you think the bbc pays to make for the programs you are watching on iplayer or Dave?

2tired2bewitty · 28/02/2013 23:05

Rogue for

GregBishopsBottomBitch · 28/02/2013 23:08

I dont get Dave, and i dont use iPlayer, Tired

I think that watching on iplayer and then refusing to pay your license fee is pure technicality - whilst technically legal isnt this the same as those who reduce their tax bill and pay very little based on technicality.

Not morally right imo so yabu

Somanyquestions1 · 01/03/2013 01:05

At certain times of day it feels like a con.

LittleEdie · 01/03/2013 01:29

I like the BBC. Money well spent.

YABU

sashh · 01/03/2013 04:34

I sometimes think I should withhold part of the fee because TV is still so male biased, particularly sports.

Iheartcrunchiebars · 01/03/2013 05:33

The Bbc is amazing. Even if you only use it when there's snow days, flooding etc.

Think of all the news stories that you would never know about if you didn't have that network of local radio stations. Your local mps are held to account by local radio and telly.

Plus documentaries like Africa, Blue Planet etc. they don't have similar ones anywhere else in the world because commercially it wouldn't make sense.

Comedies like Gavin and Stacey would never get made because they are too much of a risk.

I love the bbc and think the money is brilliant value for what you get.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/03/2013 07:42

Oh I don't hate all the bbc, I watch history program's. I don't watch dramas or comedies or the news etc.

I never watched itv etc. The reality program's leave me cold too.

I haven't even watched download so far this week.

I watched lots of TV as a child so maybe I'm just over it now.

Bunbaker · 01/03/2013 08:31

DD loves CBBC. The licence fee is worth it for that alone.

melbie · 01/03/2013 08:35

I never appreciated the BBC until I moved to Australia. The only good stuff on TV are BBC exports. And it would be so lovely to be able to listen to the radio again without adverts

erowid · 01/03/2013 08:37

Its too expensive for us and one of the reasons we didn't replace our ancient old tv when it died on us 3 years ago. Anything we do want to watch is online somewhere. Don't miss it to be honest.

Bicnod · 01/03/2013 08:44

Licence fee is worth it for David Attenborough alone IMO.

TomDudgeon · 01/03/2013 08:46

I think they should change it so if you watch bbc at all even after the event, so on I player etc then you should have to pay the licence fee.
Someone has to pay for those programs to be made.
Someone compared it to tax avoidance which seems a fair comparison to me.

I love the beeb. I've just watched dancing on the edge which was brilliant, we've been watching the penguin program and ds3 has been watching cbeebies. We haven't actually watched any of these live as we use our sky box to record and watch at our leisure but we still feel its only fair to pay the fee

Bunbaker · 01/03/2013 09:29

Dancing on the Edge was excellent wasn't it.

SilverOldie · 01/03/2013 13:53

YABU. The BBC show some fantastic programmes and I would pay just for BBC4. I don't think you should be able to access iplayer if you haven't paid either. Why should you access it when you have contributed nothing?

Springdiva · 01/03/2013 15:00

I Loooooooove the bbc and especially Radio 4.

It's only when you are abroad and don't have it that you realise how great it is.
