parking, weddings, MIL problems and bra sizes....why is it compulsive reading and how do I wean myself off?
Should I want to?
Surely there are more important things to worry about?

My name is Judge Jodie. And I am an AIBU addict.

Theicingontop · 28/02/2013 18:30

I started ttc, managed it, and am now addicted to (but rather disappointed with the flow of traffic of) the pregnancy and conception boards.

I mean it's still mumsnet but it's a start.

DebbieLovesDallas · 28/02/2013 18:34

Oh yes. When I type "mumsnet" into the address bar, it takes me straight to AIBU. Blush

GrowSomeCress · 28/02/2013 18:40

I don't even go on the mn home page, just type "am" into the address bar and AIBU comes up - occasionally I go on chat or venture into education Blush

idiuntno57 · 28/02/2013 18:47

but don't you find it wanting sometimes. Sometimes I need the U to be really U and its not

Same here, the address bar goes straight to AIBU. I love it here.

chocoholic05 · 01/03/2013 17:44

I've bookmarked aibu on my phone!

CruCru · 01/03/2013 18:06

Idiunt - yes, I only really like AIBU when someone is being unreasonable. Grey areas are less interesting.

idiuntno57 · 01/03/2013 18:37

its Friday night. Always bodes well for a really U AIBU

Anyone?? Anyone?? Beuller??

OP posts:
Mumof3men · 01/03/2013 20:08

I used to have a life then someone on the WW boards mentioned the AIBU board........

Lariflete · 01/03/2013 20:22

Yes, it is utterly addictive. And yes, my address bar takes me straight to AIBU!
But I agree with idiuntno57 when I much prefer a ridiculously unreasonable AIBU.

PixelAteMyFace · 01/03/2013 20:40

You are all BU.

Go and have a row with someone in RL instead of all this virtual nit-picking

Especially as it`s Friday night

But then there are times when someone posts about something trivial but hint at other bigger things they really need to talk about, but need to be drawn on it.

Sometimes it's difficult to post about something you know is a biggie (mostly because you think you'd be asked 'why have you put up with it for so long?' and feel an idiot) or you're not sure whether it's important or not.

I love it when I see other people saying things I thought I was alone thinking.

I just love MN. Especially on a Friday night Smile

I agree - YABU or indeed YANBU. Whichever Grin

AgentZigzag · 01/03/2013 20:49

Nit picking is MNs bread and butter though isn't it Pixel? (with threads about nits as much as picking the OPs OP apart Grin)

PixelAteMyFace · 01/03/2013 21:19

Its always interesting to see how MNs views always differ so hugely. Or nearly always.

I decided to name-change after an AIBU thread I started.

The general consensus seemed to be that I was a total wimp with the assertiveness of a dead amoeba. I think it was the first time in Mumsnet history that 99% of the posters on AIBU agreed with each other Grin

AIBU to harbour great resentment for this?

exoticfruits · 01/03/2013 22:01

YANBU - it is the addictive part and throws up some very odd people!

AgentZigzag · 01/03/2013 22:55

YANBU to feel they got totally the wrong end of the stick and took whatever you said far too seriously Pixel Grin

If they'd have known what you know in your head (i.e. more ins and outs than an iny/outy thing could fit in their OP) they'd have been totally on your side - I just know it Grin

Last thing at night when there's nothing else to think about do you know you weren't being unreasonable? Because that's the most disconcerting thing about MN, that you find your way to truths which are hard to hear, or to find elsewhere.

Like when I was searching the net for reasons to pass responsibility for my stomach still looking as though I'm pregnant, even though DD2 is 3 now.

I found lovely sites which said having two C-sects are always going to make your waist look like mine does (did, I'm getting on top of it a bit), but then I came across a MN thread where posters were saying 'I realised it's because I was eating too many biscuits drinking too much alcohol' and I thought, 'yes, that's me' as well as 'that's why I go on MN' Grin

MsVestibule · 01/03/2013 23:00

It's beyond addictive for me. I have so little willpower that I've even asked DH to block it between 10.30am-7.30pm, so I can actually get some work done . (I could have worked out how to do it myself, but if I knew how I'd blocked it, I'd also be able to unblock it in a weak moment, IYSWIM.)

idiuntno57 · 01/03/2013 23:26

I still really really want to pull up my judgy pants and complain about entitlement but it is just not doing it for me at the moment

help me please mumsnet

OP posts:
PixelAteMyFace · 02/03/2013 00:20

I am entitled to feel that YABU to complain about entitlement idiuntno57

AgentZigzag - YANBU to eat fewer biscuits and drink less wine. I envy you your willpower Envy. I`m currently wishing I could have another child so that I could blame my shape on pregnancy Grin

TraineeBabyCatcher · 02/03/2013 00:24

The way you are all talking makes it sound like there are other parts of mumsnet other than AIBU?! Are you all pulling my leg or something?
