is 9pm too late to go shopping with a baby?

My Dh works funny shifts and tonight is the only time we can go and get a big food shop together. I would go alone but need the help - its a big shop.

Ds ( 10 months) would be bathed, fed and in his pajamas and will probably sleep through the whole thing in his pram.

Is it too late and cold to take a baby out though? I dont know whether to just start doing an online shop...

I have taken mine out on the very odd occasion that I have really needed to just for one or two bits but that has only because dh has been away and I've had no choice. Erm, you DO have a choice - your dh should do it if you can't because of your back (I take it that's a temporary thing as 9pm full food shops with your tired child will really not work once your child is a bit older and need to be in bed at a decent hour).

He needs to learn to shop properly - have a list ready if you are at home during the day and give it to him before he goes to work/email it so he can run round on the way home. I have no idea why people need to shop in pairs at supermarkets.

I would of with DS, as he didn't sleep in the nights. If dd was born 1st i wouldn't have because she had a fantastic routine which i would want to spoil.

DH insists on coming to the supermarket with me at the weekend, which means we have to bring the kids too. It's the least efficient way to shop. And he follows me around complaining at the price of everything and telling me not to buy stuff. Drives me absolutely mad.

It's easier doing it on my own with the kids than with DH there. And, obviously, much easier (and quicker) if I'm on my own.

as a one off no problem. it might create havoc if you are trying to get into a routine though.
