Colin Brewer insists that he "didn't mean to cause offence", uses the fact that he had just come out of "a long meeting" to justify his remarks and is refusing to resign because he thinks he is doing "a good job".

He should resign. As a councillor he is a public servant and elected to represent the people of Wadebridge, his remarks are extremely offensive, stupid and shameful.

As a resident of Cornwall I do give a f* what a Cornish Councillor thinks.

Quote from the EX councillor ^"Mr Brewer said: "It's very painful. I didn't sleep last night. I probably won't sleep tonight.

"I'm not eating. I think it will live with me. It's continual regret. I'm hoping I will cope with it. We will see."^

And we care........ NO WE DON'T!!!!!!! Next time put the brain in gear before you put your mouth in motion...

His latest statement says it all. It's all 'me, me, me' with no regard for the people who he has hurt or offended. I'll think I'll save my sympathy for all the families who are bringing up disabled children and coping with life on a daily basis, not for the "pain" of an arrogant man who is just angry that this became public.

No one can force him to stand down. No one has the power any more. People will probably now regret allowing the government to abolish the standards board without protest because they thought it didn't matter.
