To want to scream and throw something

I'm filled with such rage every evening at exactly this time. The baby wakes up and screams at precisely the same time the 3 year old insists on a poo. While trying to deal with both of these, the bloody dog starts barking. I can't express how enraged I feel.

It's okay, dog is now in his crate where he won't bark. DD has finished the imaginary poo (having made loo paper 'snow') and the baby is already asleep again in my arms. But the whole episode seriously enrages me.

I've been up since 6.30 am following multiple night wakings. Every night for 8 months.

Tomorrow, I'll crate the dog first. That'll remove one noise. I've tried everything to get dd to poo at a more convenient time - can't win that one.

Breathe. Think about the Wine downstairs...

Sounds dreadful. Urgh. Maybe in a few weeks it will all be different?

belindarose · 26/02/2013 19:39

Thanks for the sympathy. I have food and wine now. All is quiet...

Fingers crossed for a good night. I know that rage feeling and it's not nice. Glad you've got wine

SilverClementine · 26/02/2013 19:50

Am glad you've got wine, it always helps.

The best advice I was ever given read on MN was 'this too shall pass'.

Keep going x

My problem was that I always thought 'tonight will be different'. With no evidence at all that it would be. And then I'd be mad when it wasn't...different.

Two babies and a dog? You totally rock. And one day, when you are arguing with teenagers about clothes/money/their friends, you will laugh at this time in your life.

Okay, wine consumed (not a whole bottle...), no disturbance since 7.30, so that's good.

Yes, building, I should just expect the worse. I know that, but always harbour a secret hope! DS moved into his own room a few nights ago (he's 7.5 months). The first night was good (for him - crap by most people's standards, I'm sure), but subsequent nights have been...normal.

Early night. Poor dog will be lonely again! Thanks for the support.
