More of a Am I being Deluded?

My coil is stuck. Have had two appointments with several nurses and Gp swinging from it.

It's not budging. My coil is being unreasonable. I have now being informed it is off to the Gynaecologists at hospital to be knocked out and have it removed.

Here is the possibly deluded bit. I think the Gynae will be able to remove it at the consiltation as they have more training and experience in things like this, and that they'll whip it out like butter, and I won't have to go to hospital and have a GA which I am scared of

I'm not being deluded am I? Please tell me this has happened to LOADS of people, they come out fine without GA and I should get a grip.

First of all, the instances of problems with GA are very small, so really don't let that scare you.

Second of all, two GPs and a nurse couldn't insert mine but the Gyno at the clinic did it in about 5 minutes.

So it is possible a Gyno at a clinic could whip it right out!

Is that what you wanted to hear? Grin

When I had laser treatment for CINll, I had a local in my cervix which I didn´t feel at all-if that´s any use??

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 25/02/2013 16:07

I had the lasers too. That's why I was Shock when they said GA to remove.

No Brook or FP clinic nearby unfortunately other than the one at my surgery.

I am happy to hear some have been removed without GA after being declared embedded.

Tee Thankyou Grin

I know GA ok and have had it but I get so tense before hand it's ridiculous.

You'll be glad to hear, my first coil they lost the strings. Not the nurse at the family planning or my GP could remove it.

Gyn at clinic in hospital wiped it out after threatening me with a general.

Not so good news my second one perforated my uterus and had to have it surgically removed, although to this day think my GP was in a bit of a rush putting it in.

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 25/02/2013 16:23

Perforated?

Sounds worse then it was actually, I didn't realis it had happened as both my coil fitting's where quit painful. So second time I though is was normal pain of fitting.

They spotted it a few week's latter in my tummy when I went for a scan for a cyst they where keeping an eye on. Got a bit of a shock when they wanted to rush me into sugary that day but they decided I could wait a week as it hadn't caused any problems, plus side they sorted out the cyst at the same time.

Tee2072 · 25/02/2013 16:33

I suppose I shouldn't mention the ep of Grey's Anatomy where her coil got caught in his penis piercing?

whatever you have to have done make sure your partner is with you so that when/if you decide on sterilisation for contraception he will understand why you are volunteering him. really we do put up with a load of it dont we so has to be the mans turn at some point. good luck and discuss everything fully before making any decisions. be pleased in the knowledge that GA's are expensive and they wouldnt "waste" one on you unless they had to.

cheeseandchive · 25/02/2013 16:41

eeeeeesh

I am supposed to be having one fitted this week.

Manchesterhistorygirl · 25/02/2013 16:46

Well this thread is a list of why I won't be having a coil. Ever.
