specifically has this obsession with kim kardashian. wtf is it about this girl? does anyone really need 4 updated stories about her each day? filling column inches, like cannon fodder mainly.

I have to admit that MN introduced me to the DM too - its my guilty secret Blush.

I also have to admit that KK's snakeprint trousers were so hideous that I actually felt driven to start a thread about them.

I don't really know why KK is famous but I was gobsmacked that someone who is so publicity driven could be seen wearing such an inappropriate outfit (inappropriate in style/size etc).

I think her pregnancy wardrobe could be quite a source of entertainment Grin.

EverybodysSootyEyed · 23/02/2013 21:17

We play dm bingo at work

Only looking at the headlines in the sidebar you have to be the first to spot 5 of their obsessions

(my colleague mainly gets distracted by David beckham pics though)

changeforthebetter · 23/02/2013 21:18

If your question had been "I wonder, why the daily mail?" That would have been an entirely reasonable, if existentialist, question also Grin Non capitalisation intentional!

Sparklingbrook · 23/02/2013 21:21

Who is Brandi Glanville?

thatstripedthing · 23/02/2013 21:22

what are you talking about change? i'm educated and i still don't get it. i wasn't pondering my navel

thatstripedthing · 23/02/2013 21:25

nancy a rose by a different name. i think we can all agree that they are from the same stable. i hate the bastards. they print shit and infer things that gets normal peoples blood boiling. and - before you ask why i read this shit then - they did a bog article on where i work and i'm still dealing with the fallout.

Ooh KK has just announced that she is having a girl child. Beyond excited (not)Wink

Sparklingbrook · 23/02/2013 21:41

What Kerry Katona's having another marmite? Grin Oh no, you mean Kim.

EverybodysSootyEyed · 23/02/2013 21:42

Kerry katona must be so pissed off that someone has stolen her id!!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 23/02/2013 21:43

The Kardashians late father was OJ Simpsons lawyer.

And then Kim had a large bottom and a crazy mother.

I watch their show and I enjoy it. Blush

EverybodysSootyEyed · 23/02/2013 21:45

Kim did a sex tape with someone I've never heard of and her mum thought that would be a fabulous way to start a career

Can't wait to see what her mum has planned for the new baby....

howdoo · 23/02/2013 21:48

It is totally done for the British-living-in-the-USers. We are apparently obsessed with Brandi Glanville, Kim K, other Ks, Miranda Kerr, Leanne Rimes, Lena Dunham, Jessica Chastain and Courtney Stodden.

And in reality we have no idea who half of them are!

Startail · 23/02/2013 22:08

One of the greatest joys of my dyslexic brains total inability to remember names is I haven't the foggiest idea who any of these people are.

changeforthebetter · 23/02/2013 22:54

Why, the daily mail= WTF does it exist? I am a DM loather and generally don't click on links. Nasty, racist, misogynistic rag peddling fear and narrow-mindedness.

Fakebook · 23/02/2013 22:58

They're also infatuated with "snookie" who is apparently someone on "Jersey Shore"? I have no idea who or what that is. I think it's a reality show or something. I know a lot about snookie without knowing who she is.

HollyBerryBush · 23/02/2013 22:58

DM has a massive USA readership, it is the 2nd most read online paper, therefore we have to suffer all that American S'leb crap.

I like the DM, it is the easiest to navigate, read (even if I sit there wanting to red pen my screen and point out all their typos, mis information and sack all the clearly obviouly 15yo reporters on work experience) - then I go and read anything I want an unbioased opinion on somewhere else.

As the old saying goes, the only thing you can believe in a newspaper is the date - even then it might be a misprint!

disclaimer< I read perfectly well, I am just a completely crap typist.

DadOnIce · 23/02/2013 23:02

It puzzles me that people are featured in the Mail "sleb column" without any introduction. Are we meant to know who they are? Who is "Kendal Jenner"? Can we not have footnotes?

(I mean, yes, I know we could google them, but you don't normally have to do that when reading sleb gossip columns. I know who, e.g., Daniel Craig and Jennifer Lopez are.)

Darkesteyes · 23/02/2013 23:03

Nancy has a point. To my erternal shame my parents buy the Mail (print version) and they are in their 70s.

HollyBerryBush · 23/02/2013 23:05

But you have to have the DM Christmas and NY edition though - it has the best quiz and triva spread of all the papers.

Nancy66 · 23/02/2013 23:46

It's the number one most read online paper - it overtook the NY Times a while ago.

tigerKesha · 23/02/2013 23:50

Kim in the crazy peplum pants & that top yiiiikes!! Also the DM's obsession with Cara Delevigne is maddening.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 24/02/2013 00:03

Kendal Jenner is Kim Kardashians sister.

Kendals dad is Bruce Jenner who won gold in the dicathlon (I think) at the Olympics years ago.

He is also the dad of Brodie Jenner who was in The Hills with Speidi.

I know far too much about these people.

DuttyWine · 24/02/2013 08:27

Brodie from the hills is Bruce's son? I never knew that!
