Genuinely would like to know if AIBU and if so, what should I tell him to do if it happens again?
He walked down the supermarket this morning taking our little Westie with him. On his way back a much bigger dog was coming towards him with a couple. This dog was not on a lead, despite being on the pavement next to the main road. It suddenly charged at our little Westie and attacked him for no reason. My husband tried to get it off him and get our dog away but this other dog just kept attacking. Meanwhile the owners kept calling it back to them, which it ignored, but otherwise made no attempt to get control of their fucking dog.
In the end my huband managed to get little Westie free and lifted him up high, which I suspect is not a wise move as the bastard then tried to get little dog off him. But husband is tall and strong and little Westie was well out its jumping range. Then the owners then got hold of their dog, finally, said sorry and then fucked off without leaving any contact details.
Poor little Westie baby has a bloody great big hole in his neck, is clearly traumatised, as is my husband. And we're going to have to pay the emergency out of hours vet bill. 
Maybe I should tell my husband to kick the owners instead?
