Can anyone look after the dogs for you? That would be the main problem, I would think. If you could get a dog sitter you could bugger off to a Premier Inn for the weekend. (Thread on here somewhere about how marvellous they are!)

No, my mum used to have the dogs but she can't really cope with them and is on the phone every five minutes, too stressful Grin. They are little buggers and wouldnt want to leave htem with anyone and wont do kennels. It will be me, DP (7) and two little bastards dogs

I don't know what area you want to go to or what your budget is, but we've been to the Ormonde House Hotel in Lyndhurst a couple of times and found it very good. It can be difficult to find self catering places that take dogs if you can't stick to Mon-Fri or Fri-Mon mini breaks but they book the garden suites as if they were hotel rooms so it's much more flexible.

Ormonde House have a bungalow next to the hotel (Pinewood) which is split into three self catering units and is let by the night on a B&B basis. The are well equipped and the fridge/cupboards are stocked with milk, bread, fruit juice, cereals and yoghurt. Also, if you like, you can phone reception in the evening to order your cooked breakfast which is delivered to your suite in the morning.

It's set back from a fairly busy road (have never been bothered by road noise there) and a 5 minute walk from the centre of Lyndhurst. Across the road, almost opposite the hotel, is a gate into the New Forest National Park so plenty of good dog walking.

Hope you find something that suits you.

The Blue Ball Inn, countisbury, exmoor.
Accept dogs, lovely little pub B&B.
Good food, lots of lovely walking maps outside the rooms. Not very expensive.
I am off there in a minute, have been before and thought it was lovely. Last year DP and I were the only couple without a dog

Have a look at forest holidays - they can be quite cheap last minute!

diamondee · 09/02/2013 12:02

There's a website, last minute caravan holidays I think, that advertises private van lets and most accept dogs.

Have a look at Hoseasons - they have lots of late availability and plenty of self catering that take dogs.

We are going to the isle of white tomorrow for 4 night (no dog) £99 for a 2 bedroom cottage with dishwasher, washing machine, central heating wifi etc. Small holiday park on the coast with an indoor pool for the kids. Bargain!!!!
