wibu to vociferously complain about this restaurant until I got a decent meal?

A restaurant I regularly frequent gave appalling service today, so I complained and threw their rubbish food at the wall. To begin with they were slow serving. Then I was given cheese on toast with a cheddar that was too mature for my delicate palate. Next thing I was given vegetables that had been oversteamed - this was a major turning point, I had to inspect each carrot and pea and if it wasn't up to par I tossed it from my tray.

It took several loud complaints and plate banging to get some rice pudding, which skivy that crazy woman forgot to put my raisins in Shock so I flung the spoon at the wall and the bowl at the passing car, who duly ate it all no standards

Wibu to have complained so much and should the man do the catering tomorrow?

Well! My usual chef/waitress dragged in some random waitress off the street, (funny name, Auntie something) who wanted to eat a hot cross bun at the same time as I had mine! Did nobody tell her she was working and should wait for her break! I did the only thing possible in the circumstances. I threw mine on the floor, grabbed Auntie-thingy's, and chewed it well up before I handed it back. She didn't look as hungry after that.

Grandmas are great for licking cooks into shape. If the cook is not doing things to your liking, get grandma to come and make comments about the way she is doing things, it helps if you can respond to grandma's comments to encourage change whilst she is there. Obviously you should revert back to you normal requirements once grandma has gone as really you want things doing your way.

Pandemoniaa · 08/02/2013 18:49

Some grandmas are totally unreasonable though. In fact, they seem to encourage even more of this terrible service.

stealthsquiggle · 08/02/2013 18:57

You'd have to be seriously unlucky to get 2 such unhelpful Grandmas though - if the first one you try sides with the staff, tell her loudly how much nicer the other Grandma is, and seize the opportunity next time you see other Grandma. Of course, if Grandma 2 won't co-operate either, then you tell her how much more you love Grandma 1. The service may not improve, but you will feel better for it.

With respect, you're all going about this the wrong way. The best method of bringing staff to heel is to totally ignore the food they serve you. Absolutely all of it. Whatever they bring you. You only have to keep it up for a day or two, before they're offering you all sorts of tempting delicacies. Hth.

YANBU! My waitress had the audacity to serve me what she claimed was 'exactly the same as what she had on her plate'. Pfft, she must think me stupid!

So I threw her offerings on the floor. This seemed to do the trick as she then passed me her plate to eat from. She thinks I don't know that her dinner is nicer than mine, but I'm on to her Grin.

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 08/02/2013 20:08

YANBU The chef here expected me to eat my baked beans from a spoon, I squished then into my hair instead. The sausage was scrummy but she only cooked me two! I'm 1 now doesn't she know I should have a bigger dinner than my 7 year old brother? My ap (apple) was great for bouncing off the wall & yogurt & mashed potato are good for moisturising the leather sofa so that's why I threw them on it, I sacrificed my grub for the softness of the sofa Wink
