I completely agree MrsDeVere and I don't think there are many posters who would just brush off such a nasty thread tbh so this is a nice alternative :)

Can't see a problem with this thread, I am quite new and not found mn a closed circle. The problem is that the other thread should have been deleted much quicker than it was. And I think, despite the jokes about gin, that wasn't good enough on the part of mnhq. Nobody likes to be called a cunt.

Cunt is used here so often that I don't think it has any meaning/value at all!

I personally don't like the ass licking that followed.

But I agree its not nice to be called one. Perhaps everyone should use it less eh?

Cunt is used by some people a lot on here, and for some it definitely holds its meaning.

Actually the thing that irritates me is the allegations of kiss assing afterwards.

When someone posts a shit thread like that most normal people recoil because they recognise that if someone posted that about them it would upset them.

So the human response is comfort.whether it be through joking to change the subject or comforting the target through reassurance that no, the whole world doesn't think they are a cunt.

That is a nice thing. A generous instinct. Why it gets sneered at as sucking up or some such guff is baffling to me.
But then I live in a world when some piece of shit thinks that writing a whole thread about another poster is fair. So I am pretty baffled anyway.

Still, if she needs hand-holding, mopping up, a shoulder to sob on, a hanky to borrow (like hell, she does ), I'm there for her, too.

i really like worra.... she always gives great advice to people, one of the posters you pay attention too

But the only idiot is the OP from the other thread. So support for worra has been amply demonstrated. We'll be at 1000 posts by elevenses.

This thread makes it seem like some of the other posters were in agreement, hence the need for a "support" thread. But that's not the case. Is it? Must admit I have not read every single one of the 700+ posts.

Top marks to worra for being so chilled about it. I think she is extraordinary. I would be quivering in my slippers if someone started a thread about me and called me a silly billy, let alone a cunt.

I'm pretty sure peope think they would brush off a thread calling them a cunt - and incidently it's still going on this morning on another thread -in reality I think there are very few people who are able to completely shrug off a personal attack, so I would always err on the side of caution personally.

I was commenting on the whole situation Ledkr. I have only been on mn for a bit but have the royalty/ass kissing/sucking up thing several times on threads. It's sort of the way things like this go.

Well that's the thing. The other thread was full of people laughing at the OP, and if anyone posting there thought Worra was a cunt, it was in a nice sort of way.

800+ saying 'Worra isn't a cunt' without being at all arselicky, and Worra herself not taking it seriously at all.

This thread just leaves anyone without the heart to wade through the other one, thinking Worra is being 'bullied'.
