YANBU...old neighbour had wind chimes at the front door that used to drive me bananas, and my bedroom faced on to their house.

Their lounge and bedroom was at the back and they didn't have to listen to them all blooming night!

Also had a neighbour who had a 'nodding donkey' style water feature, whereby the bucket filled with water, tipped over, and then noisily clattered back to the starting position again...all night.

If I won the lottery I would buy a house in the middle of nowhere with no neighbors!

crikey rosie seems like i've got it cushy compared to u.At least they don't have a nodding donkey but they do have a water feature

I HATE them. This would drive me bonkers. I went on a bit of a "woo" holiday/retreat once and even the Shaman who was there asked for them to be taken down!

Nancy66 · 31/01/2013 13:53

I don't think you can take them down without first talking to them.
if they're reasonable people they will hopefully just agree to remove them.

If not....then you can smash 'em up

MrsKeithRichards · 31/01/2013 14:00

I'd love to go on a woo holiday, I am a bit woo. In fact ask dh and he'd say totally fucking bonkers. I love the noise of wind chimes but have neighbours, so no chimes for me. Boo hoo woo

WorraLiberty · 31/01/2013 14:03

I compare the noise of the chimes to a dripping tap tbh

Me too, selfish bastards.

I went on holiday a couple of years ago and the (empty) caravan next door had wind chimes that kept me awake all sodding night.

I grabbed a roll of sellotape and taped them together.

valiumredhead · 31/01/2013 14:04

I think YABU to take it down without even asking them first -that would really get my back up! I can imagine it being irritating though.

Thunderstruck · 31/01/2013 14:06

Thanks nancy i'm feeling a bit guilty taking them down and i feel i better put them back up.Thanks for the advice

Is it me?

:(

Where abouts do you live??

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 31/01/2013 15:02

blimey, I was going to post this just days ago. someone near me has them and in the summers balmy evenings the gentle tinkle was bearble but lately they are really irritating me... do you live near me? if not could you move and take my neighbours one down too Grin I have been peering out of my upstairs window trying to find out where they are its someone not directly next door which makes it worse.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 31/01/2013 15:03

MrsRajeshKoothrappali you are in the west country too

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 31/01/2013 15:08

Thunderstruck I am getting a bit spooked now as before the wind chimes there was a tinkling of water... all night which was a bit distracting too, haven't heard this lately so maybe its only on a calm night when windows are wide open.
