...under 18.

Twice today I was asked for ID for cigarettes. I'm a 32 year old working lone parent who's had a sleepless night, there was no way on earth I looked 17 this morning.

Maybe they were new and didn't know that most cashier's use common sense, and don't ask every single customer for ID Grin

Either way, consider it a compliment.

WorraLiberty · 30/01/2013 20:24

I think it's the 25 ID rule thing isn't it?

You often read in the paper of people who clearly look over 25 being ID'd.

YorkshireDeb · 30/01/2013 20:24

Maybe you did! I'm a 34 year old mum who's also had a few sleep deprived nights lately. If I got asked for ID think I'd kiss them! X

Haylebop12 · 30/01/2013 20:26

yep it's the 25 thing. sorry to burst your bubble Grin

if you look under 25 you mist be asked for id. still a compliment ay!

Sandthefloor · 30/01/2013 20:28

Is the 25 thing not just for alcohol?

maras2 · 30/01/2013 20:30

You bought fags twice ? You must be very rich :)

They call their manager over at the checkout and don't understand when I say "I'm so pleased you were following the ID rules so carefully". They look at me as though I am utterly barking; I just think goodness young people today have no sense of humour. Grin

Oooh this stealth boasting winds me right up Wink.

I have not been asked for ID since I was 17. Not once. Which means that even at 18 I was looking old. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
