I'm now working towards LTB. We are going to a counsellor tonight to start the who has what and who does what. He is now staying here on the sofa but i want him gone. I saw on a website that there was a thing of spousal support as he earns loads and i dont as i have 3 disabled kids. AIBU to start asking for it? i dont want to come over as greedy but kids cost money especially disabled ones.

and i dont want to have to get benefits just to survive, not when they are his kids too and he is not willing to stay home with them. I havent had all the kids at school everyday since Novemeber. One has been home at least once a week.

You do not come over as greedy st all. Just sensibly planning how to look after the family.

Short answer is that yes, you can ask for maintenance as part of the divorce settlement both for your children and for yourself. However, think through what it is you actually want and need because regular payments can put you in a weak position.

I think he still thinks i'm not serious. Our house has huge running costs , the constant washing of sheets from incotinant kids, the huge car i need to get 2 wheelchairs in, the hot water we need for all the baths after soiling, the heat we need, kids cant be cold. expensive food as even wholemeal pasta costs more and unrefined white flour makes them worse. and so on and then dla cuts too :(
