To be feeling a bit miserable

We just moved house last week to a brand new area, due to DH's job. We have a nearly 11 month old DD. DH started his job yesterday and I feel miserable. I took my DD to a group yesterday and it was awful. We have got others to go to. I just feel very isolated at the moment having moved miles away from my friends and family. I know we will be ok in time and hopefully make some new friends, but I just feel fed up at the moment. I know there are far worse things in life, like the six miscarriages we had before DD, but I'm having trouble giving myself the kick up the arse I need.

It is really hard to begin with in a brand new place, well done for making an effort to get out there though. Why was the group so bad? How about seeing if there are any MNetters near by? I think you can do that on MN local. You sound like a strong person who has coped with alot of adversity, I hope you feel more settled soon.

Its really horrible when you have to start again. The last time we moved for the first few months I just longed to talk to someone who just "knew" me as it all seemed such hard work. It will get better. Best of luck Smile

YANBU it is so hard when you move and have no support anymore.

It will get better though as you get out and do things like you are doing. :)

It is so hard. I remember when we moved here I hated it but it does get better. It took time but I now have some lovely friends and would not want to move.

It is often easier to make friends when you have small children so keep your chin up.

I posted on here about the group. It was very regimented, we had a cymbal shook at us and were told to stop talking, then someone was told off and told it wasn't allowed for putting their DS in his car seat.

Dear god, that sounds horrible!!! Hopefully your other groups will be an improvement on that!

What a weird bunch! Fingers crossed the next lot won't be quite so peculiar!

Have you tried MN Local for your new town? I know some areas aren't really going properly yet, but others are.
