sat here as my DC sleep, looking around at the chaos that is our home. There is a long list of jobs I should be doing while they are down instead i am having a cuppa and doing nout.

AIBU????

This is why I do not have a shown home type house isn't it?

But I'm soooo tiered, baby refusing to sleep. I add this to explain my utter laziness.

Oh the guilt!!!!

YANBU, this is what I do if I'm ever feeling really rebellious... Wink

doobiedoobiedoobie · 29/01/2013 15:30

Nah, I don't think YABU. Of course, it sort of depends how long baby naps for, it's not like you get a lunch/ coffee break any other time.

OxfordBags · 29/01/2013 15:35

Why is it rebellious or guilt-inducing to take a break? Kick back and relax!

quoteunquote · 29/01/2013 15:35

But you are doing something,

You are philosophising to a world wide audience as to the peer lead judgemental implications of not tackling household chores.

Crucial work, get a research grant,

I would be glad to donate some of my previous finding on the subject.

While ds napped today, I got in dds bed across the hall and fell asleep. It was great.

fishcalledwonder · 29/01/2013 15:38

I'm currently doing the same while DD is asleep. Yes there is wet washing in the basket and the dishwasher needs emptying, but sometimes I need to stare at the wall in silence for a while. Oh, and stare at my ipad.

Reaa · 29/01/2013 15:41

I did that yesterday, all day, it was fantastic Smile

EasilyBored · 29/01/2013 15:42

I usually sleep on the sofa/mumsnet/catch up on crap TV while DS naps. I'm entitled to a break every 4 hours at work after all...

HelloBear · 29/01/2013 15:42

quote - superb idea, I now see that my professional arse sitting is in fact worthy research to make the world a better place.

I would like to add to quote 's post: you are also recharging which is the choice of a responsible care giver looking to provide the best and most energetic care for LOs.

Tee2072 · 29/01/2013 15:45

I love doing nothing when my son naps. And he's getting ready to drop the nap. sob

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/01/2013 15:45

I nap and MN and play on the computer. DH gets a lunch break and his day is only 8-9 hours long at work. I looked after DD and WOH from 6.30am-9pm yesterday. I say NAP.

GoingGoingGoth · 29/01/2013 15:47

Your only BU If you don't have Brew too. Enjoy it.

GoingGoingGoth · 29/01/2013 15:48

Argh 'you're' not 'your'

nefertarii · 29/01/2013 15:48

tee ds is getting to that point too Sad

ThedementedPenguin · 29/01/2013 15:52

I seem to have it all wrong :) I did nothing while ds napped but when he woke I started to clean up. Have sorted through all his clothes, tidied my room, and did a crap general clean downstairs.

We are currently sitting on sofa watching suits :)

HelloBear · 29/01/2013 15:54

Just put some stuff in recycling bin, feel less guilty now. Must wake DD otherwise she will never go down tonight....goodbye peace.

I never felt guilty for doing nothing when DS had a nap! That was my rest time!

Do the jobs while they're awake, then they can "help" and you can feel smug that they are learning how to do it so that they will be good independent adults one day Grin

Mother2many · 29/01/2013 16:19

Me too dear! Your not alone! Can I use the use the excuse, because they are in school too! Grin

valiumredhead · 29/01/2013 16:30

When ds used to nap so did I!
