To wash my hands after I empty the kitchen bin? And after I put the dustbin out?

Am I being unreasonable to wash my hands:

  1. After I empty the kitchen bin (and put the bag in the dustbin)?
  2. After I put the dustbin out ready for the bin men?

Do you wash your hands or just get on with whatever you are doing next?

Yanbu I have sore cracked hands at the moment due to washing my hands everytime I touch something that could pass germs onto other things.

I am terrible when it comes to food prep as I can't get it out of my head that I might contaminate something and give make someone ill.

I can't believe someone thinks you are odd for practising good hygeine.

No I don't. Well if I tool the rubbish out I wouldn't. DS and DP take rubbish out.

But we just have a carrier bag and it gets filled quickly and taken out. There isn't anything yukky in them. Not that I am aware of anyway. I wash my hands before cooking, after cooking, etc. I'm sure I wash my hands enough times in a day for any bugs to be murdered off... Grin
