AIBU to eat my DS's chocolate that he's forgotten about?

I've just found a twix and a terry's chocolate orange bar in the cupboard that DS (4) won in a Christmas tombola. He's obviously forgotten all about it. A whole bar is way too much for a 4yr old so I'd be doing him a favour wouldn't I... if I took it upon myself to make the biggest sacrifice and eat all that sugar and fat myself?

Or should I wait and share it with him?

Yabu. Its his if you eat it then your stealing

Abra1d · 22/01/2013 17:06

You could be nice and just eat some of it. I often eat my children's chocolate, if it has been forgotten about. There are few perks in parenthood and you must take them where you can. :)

YANBU. Save his teeth and all that.

Eat away I say...

HighBrows · 22/01/2013 17:10

YANBU - it's good parenting to eat kids chocolate!

farewellfigure · 22/01/2013 17:10

That's what I thought... save his teeth. Maybe me and DH can eat the Twix (DS won't like it anyway). He can have the Terry's at the weekend and I know he'll share it with cos we've dragged him up proper like. Then I'll feel guilty for even thinking about scoffing it.

In our house, if it leaves your hands it's fair game Grin so I think if its been sitting in the cupboard for weeks, then if you reminded him about it and suggested you share, he'd likely just be chuffed he had some choc!

MrsHoarder · 22/01/2013 17:18

YABU

Why not "find" it when he would benefit from a nice chocolatey surprise?

milkandribena · 22/01/2013 17:21

YANBU

Eat away (but maybe keep a little for him to eat later) :)

farewellfigure · 22/01/2013 17:22

Yes, I think we'll eat one and 'find' the other. Ooh roll on Saturday Smile

YABU - he'll remember, randomly, and catch you out. My DD is 4. I have learned the hard way not to steal her chocolate.

farewellfigure · 22/01/2013 17:33

Dammit. You're right. If we 'find' one at the weekend he'll ask where the other is. His memory amazes us. Sob.

Moominsarescary · 22/01/2013 17:54

Eat it I would

YANBU! Had a really bad school run the other day because of snow etc. came home and HAD to eat some of the DC's Christmas chocolate, plus several coffees as there was nothing else in the house. They don't even realise its there- I say enjoy it it won't be too long till they do start realising/remembering Grin. It's therapeutic
