to think the phrase "blondes have more fun" isn't true?

In my very early 20s I went from brunette to blonde. I loved it but it took a lot of upkeep etc and I don't have the time or money to be getting my roots fixed every couple of weeks.

When I going out with friends drinking and had to show my ID to the bouncer (I was brunette in the photo) and they would always comment, so is it true do blonde have more fun?

And for me it definitely wasn't. I got the same amount of attention etc.

I dye my hair darker now and absolutely love the colour.

Red is a beautiful colour, my cousins have red hair and it's so unique.

Scarlet btw not that it's exactly the best source but in FHM the majority of women in the top ten of sexiest women were brunette.

Katy Perry, Megan Fox, Mila Kunis, Rosie Jones, Georgia Salpa, Cheryl Cole, Tulisa.

So be proud to be a brunette Wink

A difference in how much attention you get is not the same as having more fun.

You should rephrase the question to do blondes get more attention? Or does being blonde make you feel feel more confident?

'Be proud to be a brunette'

[Hmm]

Yes Polly but proud to be brunette. Be proud to have pink hair.

It doesn't matter, fake or natural - be proud of whatever colour your hair is.

and here you go Hmm - I know you attempted to pull that face twice, but it didn't exactly work so.

Geez InNeatCognac were you one of the bullies in the school playground or something?

Say something constructive instead of twice throwing out insults, because then I might take you seriously.

Haters gonna hate though.

It seems as though brunettes are allowed to say whatever they want about blondes. Much like SOME women with big breasts insult women with small breasts. Yet in both those scenarios, the reverse is not allowed

Why do people do it?

Who REALLY gives a toss about hair colour or breast size?

Men certainly don't, despite what some people (especially on here) say.

Why does anyone care and feel the need to have a big blonde vs. brown debate?

Dye your hair whatever colour you want. I'm not going to judge you until you start picking on another person's choice.

prettypolly1 · 22/01/2013 14:38

OP you can't expect to start a thread on this topic and then bully others for their opinions when they differ to your own.

Your OP made you appear extremely dense.

But Polly you haven't offered an opinion?

All you've done is throw out insults.

All your posts have done is made you appear bitchy.

prettypolly1 · 22/01/2013 14:49

InNeatCognac Grin

prettypolly1 · 22/01/2013 14:50

MummyLPlate, I suggest you read all of my posts.

MummyLPlate · 22/01/2013 14:51

Hilarious InNeatCognac Hmm

Sallyingforth · 22/01/2013 14:51

Do you feel like I've insulted you Sally ?

No, certainly not :)

Tweasels · 22/01/2013 14:55

This really is not worth arguing over.

OP badly worded her Post and asked the wrong questions but It's relatively clear what she's getting at. This is just the usual be a bastard for the sake of it AIBU response.

However, as a pointer OP using phrases like "haters gonna hate" will not help your case.

BreconBeBuggered · 22/01/2013 14:57

Natural blonde here, never felt I was having more fun. Though having large breasts as well did leave me open to snidey comments from the kind of non-thinker who imagined I'd cultivated both features deliberately as an outward sign of moral degeneracy.

NB I am in fact both a moral degenerate and a miserable old boot.

Well.....no

But all the same. Lets play nice.

Sallyingforth · 22/01/2013 15:06

Well, trying to take it seriously for a minute...
IF there are some men who are more attracted to blondes,
and
IF there are some women who enjoy attention from that sort of man,
then it follows that those certain women will have more of what they might call "fun".
But as a generalisation about all blondes, certainly not.

fromparistoberlin · 22/01/2013 15:07

of course it fucking isn't!

prettypolly1 · 22/01/2013 15:08

Sally, I agree with what you say.

But the same can be said for any hair colour.

IF there are some men who are more attracted to brunettes,
and
IF there are some women who enjoy attention from that sort of man,
then it follows that those certain women will have more of what they might call "fun".
But as a generalisation about all brunettes, certainly not.

Sallyingforth · 22/01/2013 15:31

Agreed 100%. It's not a sensible argument at all.

Angelfootprints · 22/01/2013 15:31

The question isnt stupid at all.

There have been scientific studies looking into why (apparently) men prefer blondes.

I recall blonde hair as something to with an indicator of youthfulness and the fact natural blondes have more oestrogen. Not sure how valid these claims are.

As a natural brunette though op, who was a faux blonde in my early 20s I would say there wasnt that much difference attention wise.

Tweasels · 22/01/2013 16:09

All of that is fine. There may have been scientific research done but the OP didn't ask whether men prefer blondes she asked whether blondes have more fun. Two quite different questions.

Unless as Sallyingforth said. To the OP, having fun equates to getting attention for how she looks. I'll assume for the OP's sake that this isn't true.

So the question is a bit daft.

Hair colour, whatever colour that may be may make you feel more confident, more attractive, attract more attention and generally make you feel better. This may in turn to some extent improve your quality of life, make you feel happier etc. which then in turn may make you feel like you are having more fun. I'm happy with that.

The actual colour is irrelevant.
