I've been friends with her for nearly 25 years, soon shes moving 350 miles away, im happy for her, shes moving in with her boyfriend, but its unlikely, that i'll be able to drive down there, as it takes 6 hours, and i get cramp due to a failed epidural, so i wont get to see her often, only when she drives back home.

I feel silly to be upset that shes going, because its her dream, just really gonna miss her.

So you take a break when you cramp. Or you get your GP or mulitple ones, to refer you to a specialist about your cramps. Or you take a train or flight to see her.

Aww, this thread makes me sad as I will be leaving my oldest friend soon as I am emigrating. She has already bought me a leaving gift and told me she cried in the shop buying it. :( It really is harder for those left behind I think, as the leavers have a new life to look forward to, but those left behind just feel sad. I have no advice, except maybe give her something nice to remember you by, and there is always skype, although its a poor substitute I know.

You can get some really good deals if you book in advance on the train op. Might be a more comfortable journey for you. Maybe you could plan a visit every few weeks and then you wouldnt miss your friend quite so much.
