My baby girl is 15 weeks old, is ebf, and has barely left my side since birth, and I love this Smile The longest I am ever away from her is when I have a shower. DH I know would like time just for us and while I understand this, I also just feel that I don't want to be away from my baby, I don't know if it's bf hormones or just how I am as a mum. Even when I'm not breastfeeding so much when she starts weaning, the thought of being away from her yet just makes me feel queasy! I just wanted to know other people's thoughts and experiences.

I remember this feeling from the early days and I really thought it would last... Then I got cabin fever at around 5 months, which was just as well because at 6 months I had to go back to work - didn't get 39 weeks paid mat leave back then!

But having said that, I didn't have a night away from DD1 until she was 8 months and then not again until she was almost 7 and DD2 was 5. I think the difference was that DH felt the same, we didn't want to go out (in the sense of going away and getting a babysitter).

They were both good sleepers though (still are) so we had evenings together as adult time, which made a difference. These days DD1 is 12, DD2 is nearly 10 and I still love spending time with them, but I find being away for work much easier.
