Just that really. Our flat is too small for us (me, husband and 20 month old daughter) so we need to find a new place. Your thoughts please....

We've done this as only realised quite late on and had to move.. My friend has bought grounding mats for their beds made of silver coil and tested before and after with some hired device to prove they'd make a difference, according to her they do (only while you're in bed of course.) I found them a bit expensive (about £150 from memory )

nothing proved so far. BUT (and I feel for the sellers) lots of people will have this doubt, so think about resale.

still, as we all want to be permanently contactable, there have to be masts.

hippo123 · 21/01/2013 16:22

I don't think I would unless there was no other option.

DrGoogleWillSeeYouNow · 21/01/2013 16:22

I'm not sure it would bother me much, but as specialsubject says it would bother lots of people enough that you might struggle when it comes to re-selling so I'd probably give it a miss.

MadameCastafiore · 21/01/2013 16:25

I wouldn't buy one, XHs aunt and uncle bought one with a mast in their back garden. Bloody thing made awful buzzing noise, have me a headache.

Bloody house was huge but super cheap, obvious why!

lljkk · 21/01/2013 16:25

mmm, wouldn't bother me.

I assume you wouldn't have a portable phone in your house either, then, right?

The only problem I can think of is that it would lower the re-sale price but then I suppose you'd be buying it cheaper anyway!
What exactly are your concerns?

seoladair · 21/01/2013 17:42

Mixedberries - health concerns, particularly with regard to a developing toddler.
I will sit down later and study the senseaboutscience document, for which many thanks.
I'm very interested to hear Mumsnetters views. I am no expert, but do have concerns about electro-pollution, and want to educate myself more about it.

You're welcome, OP. All I can say is that it wouldn't bother me but of course everyone else is free to make their own decisions and weigh up the facts relevant to their own situation.
The document may be useful for putting the stats and figures into context. So good luck to you whatever you decide! And I empathise completely, we live in a too-small terrace with a one-year old DS.
