To dislike Lance Armstrong even more after watching his interview with Oprah

So I can imagine for legal reasons he perhaps couldn't give too many specifics without directly accusing/implicating others but I just thought his answers were largely evasive and frankly i thought he was lying a lot even during the interview.

He didn't seem sorry one bit!! (except for getting caught). Arrogant prick. I thought Oprah was 'OK' but let him off quite lightly.

Very sad some sports are tarnished with people like this.

I think his lifetime ban should remain and he should be blocked from competing in ANY professional sporting event in the future (he's expressed a desire to do triathlon).

I don't necessarily think there should be a lifetime ban for all drug cheats. People do use performance enhancing drugs and do regret it bitterly afterwards. It's not and never will be right but I think that it's also very difficult to understand the level of pressure thatere is in certain sports. Plenty of former drug cheats have spoken about this and in no way in a self-excusing way iyswim. But I think that it should be possible for an athlete to serve a ban for doping and then be allowed back to compete afterwards if he/she is genuinely remorseful and co-operative with the authorities.

However what sets Armstrong apart from most drug cheats is that he refused to co-operate with anyone, and not only that, he set out to ruin the careers of those who spoke of their suspicions, and all the while he was guilty of cheating - while his family and friends defended him!

So he's been through a lot - big deal. The fact he is a cancer surviver does not give him permission to behave however he wants and to hold that up as a justification for doing so.

He's an absolute piece of shit scum-of-the-earth who set out to destroy people who spoke the truth about his cheating.

I hope they in turn sue the fuck out of his smug fabulously wealth existence.

JoanByers. I so wish their was an MN 'like' button. Very succinctly put.

'how much people enjoy a hate figure'??
The man doesn't deserve pity or sympathy. He took people's adulation, support and cash all the time knowing he was cheating and deceiving them.

And what message would it send if he were allowed to compete again? Hey kids, it's fine to cheat and lie and take drugs because one day it'll all be forgotten.
Odious man.
