In my house we have:

2L Bacardi
1.5L Gordons Gin
75cl Famous Grouse [although I bloody hate whisky]
2 btl Carlsberg Export
1 unopened bottle of red wine bought in 2002 from a monastery in Cyprus
1/2 btl Pimms
1/4 btl Malibu flavoured with Lime opened in c1999
collection of various single shot bottles collected from mini-bars around the world
4 cans of bitter [puke]
1/2 btl of toffee vodka
Full btl of chilli vodka

oh oh oh and there's a bottle of Lambrini under the sink I got for Secret Santa 2 years ago Hmm

AIBU to wonder if this is going to be sufficient to get us through these dark times ahead? This snow is forecasted to last about 3 months isn't it?

OMG when I type it all ou I definitely feel Blush. Or like throwing a party. That obvs no-one will be able to come to because of the snow Hmm

I didn't buy any oxtail soup or tins of beans either, we are all doomed aren't we...

I haven't stocked up for the snow but even if stuck for many many weeks I'm not sure we'd run out of stuff to drinkBlush
We've hardly touched our last wine delivery (3 mixed cases),
Then we have 4 types of Gin, 11 types of malt whisky, 3 different ports, 2 types of rum, vodka, baileys, Ginger wine, sloe gin, pimms and winter pimms, some kind of spirit from Norway, another one from Wales, brandy, cognac, some mead, some fancy cider, 3 bottles of bitter and half a case of lager.
And I have mixers and ice too
We aren't huge drinkers just like to have something when the mood strikes us Blush perhaps we should have a party.

PeachActiviaMinge · 18/01/2013 14:09

YANBU I'm 27 weeks pregnant and so theres not a drop of alchohol in the house Angry I got really sad yesterday after spotting a recipe for bacon vodka. Only 13 weeks to go. Then I shall indulge in Jack Daniels Tenessee honey and Bacon Vodka.

Schlock · 18/01/2013 14:13

lol at 'do you have ice' when there is a foot of snow outside Grin

coldinthesun · 18/01/2013 14:15

Ice?

Oh.

Looks out window.

VisualiseAHorse · 18/01/2013 14:18

Certainly will trade for 1/2 bottle of Pimms! That, with ice, and it'll be like summer again!

Just checking what else we've got...
1/2 a bottle Toffee vodka
1 bottle of Jura whiskey
1 bottle of Islay whiskey
1 bottle vanilla vodka :/
1 small bottle homemade bramble gin (nicely aged)
1/4 bottle Erdradour cream whiskey (like Baileys)
Tiny bottle of rum
Small bottle of strawberry and cream liquor :/
1/2 bottle elderflower liquor (YUM!)
3/4 Big bottle of vermouth
6 Newcastle Browns
1 tin of stella Cidre
1 bottle red wine
3 random bottles of ale.

ResolutelyCheeky · 18/01/2013 14:31

Raspberry liqueur (again why?)
Ameretto
Metaxa 7*
French Brandy

ScarlettInSpace · 18/01/2013 14:35

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh I forgot I have a bottle of pink fizzy stuff at the bottom of the fridge I was saving for a special occasion yaaaaay!!!!

although am a bit hurumph that everyone elses collections look more interesting than mine...

Maybe in June when the snow drifts have cleared I will have a 'make your own cocktail' party...

OP posts:
TheProvincialLady · 18/01/2013 14:36

The potato soup was homemade and was a kind of moroccan spicy affair if I remember correctly. Which made the cocktails even more interesting. Well it probably did - I don't think I could taste much by then.

ebersneezer · 18/01/2013 14:43

You've an unopened bottle of wine from 2002! That's like being teetotal Shock

VisualiseAHorse · 18/01/2013 14:43

Potato soup should really have leeks in it too.

4 inches of snow here at the moment...it hasn't stopped all day.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 18/01/2013 14:44

Scarlett I was at a party once where 2 friends bought a bottle of vodka to share. They forgot mixers. One used a bottle of lucozade and spent the night bouncing off the walls. The other used lambrini and it stayed down for approx 20 minutes before coming back up in a spectacular 2 hour vomitathon! You have been warned Grin

RuleBritannia · 18/01/2013 14:44

I feel left behind Sad.

I have a tin of John Smith's beer and three tins of Bavaria low or no alcohol beer. There's also a bottle of now-out-of-date lemon cordial. Oh, and three bottles of real ale for when my son visits.

They were all brought by guests and left after a party. There was wine left though but I no longer have it! Blush I don't like beer.

whattodoo · 18/01/2013 14:48

I've got 3 brandy soaked Christmas puds. Do you think there is a way I could squeeze the brandy back out?

WillYouDoTheFandango · 18/01/2013 14:49

I have a shitload of booze here. DP works as a HGV mechanic and every christmas the drivers give him and his workmates (all 3 of them) a crate of mixed spirits to split that's fallen off the back of their lorries 2L of Courvoisier anyone? I also have an impressive demerara/spice rum collection that I've been dying to drink now that I'm no longer preggers

TheProvincialLady · 18/01/2013 14:51

OK I've looked and I have the following:

A bottle of retsina (why?)
Most of a bottle of Hendricks gin
1/4 bottle of 'old tawny port'
Most of a bottle of Bells whiskey someone bought DH and he can't stand
1/2 bottle of Jamesons whiskey
2 bottlse of fentimans tonic
3 bottles of red wine
Bottle of champagne in the fridge

We'll be okWink

LineRunner · 18/01/2013 14:51

You need Galliano. And Grenadine.

TheCatIsEatingIt · 18/01/2013 14:57

Hmm.

More ale than you can shake a stick at.
2 bottles of Cava
1 bottle of special personalised wine that we had for a wedding present - probably horrid
2 bottles red wine brought by recent guests, probably lovely.
Small bit nice single malt
Large bottle Bell's
Tesco's vodka, about 7 years old.
Kahlua
Malibu
Rum - full bottle
Cheap fake Baileys, 1.5 bottles
Tomato juice
Amaretto
Sheridan's - like getting pissed on cold coffee

I suspect we'll be ok. I'll get DH to pick up some diet coke on his way home from work.

littlewhitebag · 18/01/2013 15:02

I once drank gin and Sunny Delight when we ran out of tonic.

It made me sooo sick.

I never touched Sunny Delight again.

ScarlettInSpace · 18/01/2013 15:04

Back in 2002 I didn't drink red wine so the bottle has just kind of folowed me around since then.

Now I've managed to convince myself that this monastic treasure is going to be either a/ worth a lot of money one day 2/ taste so amazing after 11 years in my wine rack that I'm going to wish I'd saved it for a special occasion or iii/ taste like shite.

Oddly enough I'm not put off by the Lambrini vom-story and am continuing to view it as a mixer...

OP posts:
coldinthesun · 18/01/2013 15:05

Is this competitive booze cupboards?

I dare not go look... We aren't big drinkers really - thats the problem - we just don't drink what we get and we now seem to have everything under the sun. No one ever knows what to buy us as presents so its the default choice.

We have two magnums of cheap cava in the fridge for starters. I think one of them has been there for over a year.

BaresarkBunny · 18/01/2013 15:09

The lambrini needs to be used as a mixer. This was a standard mixer for vodka when I was at uni.Wink

specialsubject · 18/01/2013 15:26

hell of a student party! Smile

EyesCrossedLegsAkimbo · 18/01/2013 15:29

Ran out of orange juice and thought Irn Bru and vodka was a good idea. Never again.

coldinthesun · 18/01/2013 15:32

I mixed Irn Bru Wkd and Red Bull at a festival once. Trying to be clever.

I wasn't.

maddening · 18/01/2013 15:33

We have one of those individual bottles of wine - got it for a recipe that never got made - I can send it over in return for teabags
