My sister has give dd a computer for hee room all well and good we could not have afforded one for her and there is lots of fighting amongst the dc for computer times.

Dh went to set it up and it is absolutly loaded with porn my sister is gay ( this is relevant) there is lots of pictures of her and her girlfriend in bed and more.... Even the hone screen is pornographic

I did not need to see this and thankfully dh had sent dd for something when he had turned it on so she didn't see anything
Dd is 7

Aibu to be mighty passed off about this she didn't mention anything except asked if dh could copy some picture onto a CD for her

I intend to. Copy everything to CD. And post it through her doordhe works nights and see what she has to say for herself

I changed PC's first thing i did was wipe it, and i have nothing like that on my PC.

Some people don't understand computer stuff and think for example dragging images to a cd burn icon is (re)moving them rather than copying them. Things that seem obvious really aren't to the non savvy.

So I would be prepared to laugh it off as a mortifying mistake.

shesariver · 13/01/2013 22:46

Dont get how it would be a mistake because she would know they were all on it??

SandStorm · 13/01/2013 22:50

Just a shot in the dark but has your sister given you the right laptop? Maybe she has another one and got muddled up and the one intended for your DD is sitting in her kitchen still?

StuntGirl · 14/01/2013 00:45

I suspect the OP is mad because it seems very far-fetched that one would forget that the computer you're about to donate to someone else is full of pornographic images of yourself.

It was very kind of her to donate the PC, but she should have ensured all personal content was copied or deleted from the computer, and you and your husband should have double checked it before giving it to your daughter.

Porn on the homescreen?!

I don't think that's laughable-offable. Having loads of dirty pics in an accessible folder can be put in 'embarrassing mistake' territory, but not changing the homescreen goes beyond being a forgivable oversight. It's probably not been done on purpose, but it is a totally moronically stupid thing to do, and YANBU to be very annoyed.

Despite that, you should try to explain your unhappiness with the situation to your sister, without necessarily yelling so loud she can't tell what you're saying. Stealth-posting stuff in the dead of night is a bit much.
