To think that if you rent a property, you should pay properly?

Don't want to go into too many details as RL people know my posting name.
Surely though, if person A owns a property, and person B lives in it, they should pay person A rent which would cover the mortgage as well as paying for the bills?!

Person B wants to just 'pay for what they use' and thinks that person A should still pay for mortgage as they are family and person A owns the property and it wouldn't be an 'official' renting situation.

Don't rent to person B then.

Person B is taking the piss! Person A should bring the 'discussion' to a halt and refuse to let B over the door. With that size of a sense of entitlement, I'd hazard a guess that person B wouldn't be inclined to take good care of the house and would be on the phone bleating about a lightbulb needing changed, a tap dripping etc. B, in short, is trouble.

B should pay more than just bills, but does A want to charge more than the market rate in order to cover the mortgage?

OTOH if A is not happy with the agreement they can just say no!
