To be pissed off at neighbour?

He has been granted planning permission to build quite a large garage in his back garden. Our house backs on to some fields, makes for a lovely view. Now when I look right I just see this shitty building.

Having taken a look on the Councils website it states that it would be OK due to the size of our fence, I wouldn't mind if that were the case however it is a hell of a lot bigger than our bloody fence!

It looks so misplaced. Angry

Did you object when the planning requested?

IRCL · 11/01/2013 21:58

No, but then we didn't live here then, DP's parents did though and they said they objected when we spoke about it tonight.

personally I think it's a bit of a non problem. I may grumble to my self but I wouldn't start a feud or argue the planning.

it's not effecting you really is it? so what you see an extra building when you look out a window.

there real thinga you could be worried about andbif there giant. count your self lucky all you have Ian that to worry about.

but I'm a live let live kind off person and don't get riled easily.

Eh?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 11/01/2013 22:31

That is a pity, that it's spoiling your view. But if the permission was granted and it's built according to spec, I don't see what you can do or why you should be pissed off with the neighbour. You can't expect them not to build something legit on their own property just because you feel it'd be nicer that it wasn't there.

wonderingsoul · 11/01/2013 22:34

there is real things to worry about. and if this is your biggest I'd count my self lucky that's all you have to stress at.

not word for word.. but what my point was.

side note..I don't (do) have fat fingers.. my buttons are just small... andbif forgot to prove read .

dexter73 · 11/01/2013 22:34

How long ago was it built?

MumVsKids · 11/01/2013 22:39

Erm, correct me if I'm wrong, but you're pissed off with your neighbour for building a garage and spoiling your view BEFORE you actually lived there?

If so, YABU.

If you moved in knowing it blocked your view and would piss you off, why did you move in?

SuzysZoo · 11/01/2013 22:47

Under English law, there is no right to a view, unfortunately.

IRCL · 12/01/2013 01:59

Certainly not the only thing I have to worry about that doesn't stop me from having a moan though.

The building has just started.

Ah well I suppose I had 9 months of a lovely view. Better than the last "view" I had. :)

Also not going to start a feud! I like to actually be friendly with my neighbours. Well some of them. Grin

Wouldn't contest planning either. haven't got the time or energy. Still my little moan has made me feel better.
