To be fed up with my dd having recurring sickness

This is her fourth bout in 1 month. I don't get paid when I don't work so I have lost over 8 days salary.

What is the bug? She doesn't have a temperature and isn't sick over a prolonged period of time. She throws up 2-4 times in an hour and then nothing else. So I am at home with no salary for another 48 hours with her as bouncy as ever.

Is this the nora virus? Nobody else in the family are coming down with it. Surely if it was, it would be really contagious and her brothers and me and my husband would have caught it by now.

Sounds more like a bad reaction to something she's eaten.... temporary vomiting to clear the stomach.... than a virus which usually drags on a little until it has worked through. Vomiting can also result from stress/anxiety/excitement, digestion problems (reflux), overeating.... all kinds of things. Worth taking her to a GP and maybe taking note of what she's eaten, behaviour, etc.

We've had something similar OP, so you have my sympathy. We had the third round last week, with DS1 being spectacularly sick all over his bed and his brother's underneath. Nightmare.

I don't know what to suggest. I've caught it a couple of times too, so have assumed it's a virus and they were just different strains. I hope things improve for you soon.

It is possible to have temporary lactose intolerance following a bug.

This happened to DD2 when she was in reception. As you describe- fine for a few days, throws up fine again etc. etc. A doctor suggested the temporary lactose thing so we took her off it for a week and then she was fine.

Might be worth a try.

She gets really bad tummy pains before a vomiting incident. She does get a jippy tummy too but not bad, just a few runny poos.

could be food intolerance xxxx

DD had noro - this doesn't sound like it, although it's possibly a different virus.

With Noro we had repeated projectile vomiting for a couple of days and a week of 8 times a day explosive poo. She was poorly with it too, temperature, aches and pains. All in all nasty.
