My ds was two last week, we bought him nothing as our house is stuffed with toys. He did get a couple of things to unwrap from family, his favourite gift was....... A mickey mouse balloon :)

My DS3 is 2 on saturday. Like you I wasn't sure what to get him as he got loads for christmas. In the end I got him a book. I've also bought some themed cups, plates etc with the octonauts on (his current obsession) and granny and grandad are coming for tea. I will be making a cake which will probably sink

My nephew birthday was Tuesday, so we all put in his summer fun fund so my sister can buy garden toys when the weather picks up a bit :)

DP has a January birthday. This year, I will be buying him the coat that I was going to buy for his birthday last year, but never got round to Blush I did make him a cake, iirc...

DD didn't really understand what was going on for her second birthday and was utterly delighted with everything she got - opening presents took about 4 hours in total as she had to play with everything including the wrapping and packaging for ages. Having a special cake and a day out with Mummy and Daddy was the best bit for her. Make the most of it, I'm sure they get greedier as the years go by.
