My friend asked me to meet her at the soft play with our girls, her girl is 3 mine is 2. My husband had the car so I asked her to pick me up, she said yes. Half an hour late and no sign of her, text or anything. My daughter is in her coat and getting upset and I'm ready to text her to say forget it, AIBU?

There may be a perfectly good reason she's running late. Why not ring her and ask if it's still on to go to soft play & for her to pick you up?

YWBU to dive straight into stroppy texts cancelling plans.

Steady on, it's only half an hour.

Phone or text to find out if she's still coming, maybe her dd needs a poo or something similar.

I'd be annoyed too - if you're going to be more than 10 mins late the golden rule is to ring/text/tell the other person. Unless it's a true emergency obviously. But if it's just general lateness then good manners are not an optional extra. Ring her and ask direct how much longer she's going to be.

What happened?

She never turned up, she text me an hour or so later to say she lost track of time. MIL took my daughter to soft play whilst I was at work so she never missed out x
