Keep it short and to the point.

Are you The Ruler of the Internet?

Funny you should say that. Yes. Yes I am. You must all obey me henceforth. No more long winded irrelevant OP's.

MurderOfGoths. Yes, quite.

I also hate the strikeout feature. Especially when people use it inappropriately, like striking out the wrong word. How dumb.

I'm always writing long OP's!

I did a mahoosive one in behaviour a few days back, seriously it could've been a short story :o

I find it easier to put details in one post rather than spreading it out which IMHO makes half the responses pointless which isn't fair just because you prefer to drip feed.

YANBU. I have seen some OPs where it was necessary to go into lots of details, but others would benefit from some serious editing before being posted. Some of them just ramble on and you have to pay close attention to decipher what it is the poster is actually looking for an opinion on. I particularly hate the ones which are full of DH and DGP and DSD and DPIL. I just lose the will to live half way through them.

Rollmops · 08/01/2013 11:48

Any OPs that begin with;'' So, .... '' are guaranteed to be shudder-inducing and tend to go on yabbering... and on and on and on.....
OP YANBU.

Oh worra I agree

There's one poster who strikes out three or four phrases EVERY POST and now I have to skip over her posts as they drive me mad

ResolutelyCheeky · 08/01/2013 12:37

While we are on it, posts that have !!!!! or ????. Just why?

atthewelles · 08/01/2013 14:13

I like strike outs if they add a witty note to a post - but that usually means a few words not several sentences.

I agree with posts that start 'so'. I just know they're going to be garrulous, confusing and full of unnecessary detail.
