If your 6-10yr old child was invited to a 1pm-3pm party would you give them lunch first?

No.

Sparklingbrook · 05/01/2013 20:00

No I wouldn't. I would assume food would be at the party.

KobayashiMaru · 05/01/2013 20:00

No. But why is this is AIBU?

catgirl1976geesealaying · 05/01/2013 20:00

No. I would also assume there would be food at the party

rocamadour · 05/01/2013 20:01

I'd make a simple sandwich.

Sparklingbrook · 05/01/2013 20:01

We may be about to find out hopefully Kobaya. Wink

Bert2e · 05/01/2013 20:01

Not lunch maybe but a very substantial mid morning snack!

whatsonyourplate · 05/01/2013 20:01

I would assume they wouldn't be eating until about 2pm, so I'd give them a snack at about 12ish.

cunexttuesonline · 05/01/2013 20:01

I would probably give a snack at around 1130 in case the food came out late and then they would be starving.

wannabedreams · 05/01/2013 20:01

I would give them lunch actually.

deleted203 · 05/01/2013 20:01

Nope. I'd assume lunch was being provided.

SantasENormaSnob · 05/01/2013 20:02

No.

I'd do a slightly later breakfast though.

Meglet · 05/01/2013 20:02

Yes. I couldn't be sure when they would be fed. Better to have a light lunch at 12 so they've got some energy to tear around at the party.

LynetteScavo · 05/01/2013 20:02

I would give them a bit of vegetable soup or some fruit, presuming they would be loading up with crap at the party.

DameMargotFountain · 05/01/2013 20:02

i would, but that's because DD won't eat food she's not familiar with and would stress about being made to eat

girliefriend · 05/01/2013 20:02

I would as dd 6yo normally has lunch at midday and I would assume the food would be at the end of the party! But would keep a light lunch so she still has room for cake!!

TreadOnTheCracks · 05/01/2013 20:02

I'd give a little snack before they set off.

DeafLeopard · 05/01/2013 20:02

I would assume food at the latter end of the party so 2.30ish, so would give them a small snack to keep them going through the party.

decktheballs · 05/01/2013 20:03

I'd give them something small before they went, been caught out with this before

Sparklingbrook · 05/01/2013 20:03

Even if lunch isn't served at the party DS could survive 2 hours. Grin There's usually cake at the least.

MummyDoIt · 05/01/2013 20:03

I'd probably give a sandwich to be on the safe side. Enough to keep them going if there wasn't any food but not enough to fill them up if there was.

NewYearNewNN · 05/01/2013 20:04

I'd ring to check what they were planning. Having said that even if they do have lunch laid out first, they'll all be too excited to eat it.

And YABU to post this in AIBU!

HollyTheHedgehog · 05/01/2013 20:05

Because

A- AIBU to always send my kids to parties having not eaten? (Ive always done this)

B- AIBU having created a huge buffet of party food today assuming the kids would eat and every single one said they didnt want anything because they'd eaten. Waaaaaaaaa!!!
It was regular party food too!

I'm in the yes camp.

DonderandBlitzen · 05/01/2013 20:07

I would assume they would be eating at 2.30, so would probably give them something light to keep them going until then, as they are used to eating lunch earlier than that.
