to be sick of all this onesie talk

...in RL, here, on Facebook, Twitter, whatever. I keep seeing people talking about wearing a onesie eg

"in my onesie, drinking wine - bliss! #notgoingoutagainlikeever

or 'can I wear my onesie to work do you think?'

It's like someone screaming 'I'M MAD, ME' and thing is, it's usually the most boring and conventional people wearing them, straight home from their HR job, sitting on their Next sofa in the 'burbs with an M&S dine in for two in the oven.

I prefer maternity PJs (not pregnant Blush ) - much cosier and easier from a loo perspective

And that is my view on the matter. Thank you.

They are everywhere now aren't they?

I'm just jealous as I don't have one. DH threatened never to have sex with me again if I bought own with ears and a tail Grin.

DontYouJingleMyChristingle · 04/01/2013 15:06

I'm with you, why would I want to freeze my arse off every time I wish to pee in the night?

Don't even like them for kids as they make nappy changes, toilet training and going to the loo much more difficult.

ChristmasNamechangeBridezilla · 04/01/2013 15:06

NB I work in HR and have a Next sofa so my opinion might not count. Grin

BloominMarvellous · 04/01/2013 15:08

My DP bought me one for a joke. The. Joke was on him as I found it quite comfy Blush

Montybojangles · 04/01/2013 15:08

YANBU in the slightest. My house is freezing and having to strip half naked for a pee due to a stupid all in one is not an option.
Aren't they just enormous baby grows? Maybe enormous nappies are the loo problem answer then...

BloominMarvellous · 04/01/2013 15:09

SPsFanjo will be along soon to defend them! I think she luffs hers.

EasterEggsInJanuary · 04/01/2013 15:09

Christmas I work in PR, have an M&S sofa and live in the suburbs, BUT I DON'T HAVE A ONESIE! Grin

Even my children are over onesies. Do grown women honestly wear them?!! Why would you do that?!! Don't these people ever want to have sex again?!!! Grin

feellikearubbishmummy · 04/01/2013 15:11

hate them for adults remind me of 15 stone babies. Love them on my daughter who is 8 Smile

OverlyYappyAlways · 04/01/2013 15:12

Mines is annoying me tbh, it scratches my thigh, I cannot open the door or anything when it's on...I may test it again later...

I'm back to fleecy pj's and wearing pyjamas in the street is never acceptable.. well okay I let the Dc why may be experimenting off but everyone else needs to get dressed imo!

NorbertDentressangle · 04/01/2013 15:12

Fine for children but should NEVER be seen on an adult and certainly NEVER be worn in company/outdoors etc

NorbertDentressangle · 04/01/2013 15:16

OverlyYappyAlways " I cannot open the door or anything when it's on"

I've just spent ages wondering why you couldn't open the door eg. no arms in it, hands were covered so couldn't grip the knob etc but then the penny dropped Blush. I presume you mean you won't answer the door to anyone whilst wearing it?!

ChristmasNamechangeBridezilla · 04/01/2013 15:18

Grin We are rebels. Rebels I tell you!

OverlyYappyAlways · 04/01/2013 15:18

Norbert I get a bit embarrassed in it, I am fine when no one can see me though, some man came to my door once. It was terrible, I cannot do the hood/feet/hand thing I get trapped, I double up on slipper socks so look um, well not a good sight to be answering the door Grin

I cannot wear it in bed either tbh...

BrianCoxandTheTempleofDOOM · 04/01/2013 15:20

[lightbulb] thanks for explaining that Norbert Grin

DD is 9 and has 4 Onesies ( all xmas presents) and I love her in them, she looks so cosy.

I, however, being 27 weeks pg, with a fat arse and at 5'11" tall - I don't think they make them to accommodate the wealth of 'me' Grin

If they did, I couldn't bare to strip off on my constant loo trips all night long (bloody pg tiny bladder!) It's bad enough having to get out of bed up to 8 times a night, let alone get naked too!

AQuarkTooFar · 04/01/2013 15:28

I got a onsie for Christmas, am 24 and I love it. All my family got one including my DH, DMum, DDad and my 2 6' 4" tall DBrothers. Love it, so cosy and comfy. Would never wear out the house though!

diddl · 04/01/2013 15:39

I also don´t get the fuss about them.

Cosy & comfy?

So are the leggings & cashmere tunic that I´m wearing.

And I can go out although I´m sure some on here would think I shouldn´t

Buy suitable clothes!

browniebear · 04/01/2013 15:44

Someone on my FB updated with 'in my onsie in tesco getting some funny looks'

Well you would wouldn't you you loon?Your not dressed!

OverlyYappyAlways · 04/01/2013 16:17

I detest those facebook announcements tbh!! Any announcing from the supermarkets annoy me,

get your head out of your phone and go shopping - facebook is fine it will still be there when get home

gordyslovesheep · 04/01/2013 16:23

says more about the people you have on FB to be honest

I own a onsie - I have never posted about it on FB - I do not get cold going for a wee in the night as I sleep in the buff

I just find it cosy

ChaoticintheNewYear · 04/01/2013 16:29

My DD has two, she loves them Grin

ChippyMinton · 04/01/2013 16:29

DD(9), who has a cotton one to sleep in and a full-on minnie mouse fleece number for lounging gives this advice for visiting the bathroom:

Wear a VEST to keep your top half warm, and only pull the onesie down to your thighs, to keep your bottom half warm

haggisaggis · 04/01/2013 16:31

My dh got me one for Christmas. I didn't ask for it - he just got it as a kind of joke present. It is furry fleece with a hood with ears. I look like an overstuffed teddy bear. To compound matters, he didn't check his online order until wrapping it on Christmas Eve when he discovered he'd bought two. (and since ordered October too late to send back). Which is why my 75 year old mother now has one. And wears it.

IsabelleRinging · 04/01/2013 16:33

He he , I have a leopard print one complete with hood with ears on. DD chose it for me for christmas to match hers. It is actually v.comfy. I don't sleep in it though. I only wish it had feet so i didn't have to wear slippers with it. I wear a vest underneath for toilet times.

MrsMelons · 04/01/2013 16:39

I dunno, my DB (who is 30 and 6ft) got one for xmas and he and my DSs lived in theirs all Xmas. I was actually quite jealous - I think it would look daft on me as I have huge boobs so would probably make me look really really fat!

My DH went to the chemist in his PJs last week to get me some emergency migraine pills (not a onesie). I don't see it as a major issue though just a bit lazy!
