Dh has a habit of splashing water all over the counter when he gets a glass of water because he puts the tap on too fast. He wipes it but its still dampish. It really bloody annoys me.
So does him taking off his heavy shoes and leaving them in them in the middle of the bedroom floor, which I usually trip over them.

Anyone else unreasonably irritated?

My Oh doesnt fill the coffee canister up. He will get the jar out the cupboard and leave it on the worktop. I hid it once, childish but satisfying Grin

Arthurfowlersallotment · 03/01/2013 16:37

People who stop suddenly in the middle of the pavement.
People who move backwards with no consideration there may be someone behind them.
Grown ups who throw tantrums.

digerd · 03/01/2013 16:38

When people visit and sit round my table and leave without putting the chairs back under the table.
Using the towels in the bathroom without folding them as they were and putting neatly back.

Badgersnatch · 03/01/2013 16:39

My Mum calls Lidl "Leeedle" I know that's how it's supposed to be pronounced but it still makes me furious.

HazleNutt · 03/01/2013 16:41

People who for some reason just can't blow their nose, but sniff instead. Sniff. Sniff sniff. Sniiiiiiffff. Whole bloody day, every 3 seconds.

FobblyWoof · 03/01/2013 16:44

So, so many Grin

My top one at the moment is people writing the date the American way (12/25/12). Angry

And people who say December 25, instead of 25th of December or December the 25th. I can't explain it but it makes my blood boil!

BarredfromhavingStella · 03/01/2013 16:47

Drivers who have no idea how to indicate &/or how to navigate a fucking roundabout, grrrrrrr Angry

EuroShagmore · 03/01/2013 16:53

People who lean on the holding poles on public transport, either crushing your fingers or leaving you to tube surf. Just because they can't be arsed to support their own weight. It's incredibly selfish.

MrsSiba · 03/01/2013 17:06

DP leaving the door wide open as he comes in thereby instantly releasing all the heat in the room.

Oh and my favourite...entering the room, switching channels then leaving the room to get something.

KobayashiMaru · 03/01/2013 17:10

Chat threads in aibu make me pretty irritated. There are so many of them lately, why is that?

littlewhitebag · 03/01/2013 18:24

Taking the bins out - good Not replacing the bag - bad

Doing the dishes - good Not emptying out the basin of water or wiping the surfaces - bad

Clearing up dishes from table at end of meal - good Not putting them in dishwasher - bad

I could go on .....

Doinmummy · 03/01/2013 18:27

DP dripping water on kitchen floor when he washes up.

People that say "my bad"

skratta · 03/01/2013 18:31

My DC asking 'Can I say something?'

Seriously, it's really annoying for no reason. Well, only DD1 and 2 say it, but when have I told them that they can't speak? They say it, then move on to talk anyway, so it's not even a question.

And people going 'basically...' or 'it was literally amazing!' I don't get that. Normally, if someone says 'it was amazing!' I don't usually think 'was it metaphorically amazing? Or literally amazing?' because it kind of just is.

LouisWalshsChristmasCloset · 03/01/2013 18:32

Ex not knowing when a bin is full. He seems to have the can fit an infinate ammount of rubbish in a bin gene along with the 'cant see the pile of washing at the bottom of the stairs waiting to go up' gene.

My mum says covonia instead of covornia

someone brought some food to me yesterday, hot soup in a lunch box and a frozen cheesecake on top. Why would one do.such a thing?

skratta · 03/01/2013 18:33

The 'basically' thing I mentioned above ^^, I get annoyed because someone going 'well, basically, I was going for a walk...' It's unnecessary.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 03/01/2013 18:42

DH always leaves pools of water around the sink when he washes up and always puts his coats on the back of kitchen chairs instead if on the pegs in the hall.

My mum rings me up for non urgent conversations at 8.25 on school mornings.

LouisWalshsChristmasCloset · 03/01/2013 18:43

I hate that too. They never basically tell you what they are 'basically going to do'

Lorelailovesluke · 03/01/2013 18:46

DH turning shower on then cleans his teeth - because it needs to warm up!! 2 minutes of water wasted every fecking day.

ClippedPhoenix · 03/01/2013 18:46

Little things tend to piss me off more than huge clangers.

Just home from sainsburys and there was someone in front of me with a trolley in a basket only aisle.

Bastards.

cluttercluttereverywhere · 03/01/2013 18:47

Drivers who go into the righthand lane at traffic lights without indicating, you pull up behind them thinking they're going straight on...and then they stick their indicator on to turn right when the lights change. Gits.

And today's one - telephone sales people who ask you how you are. Like they really care!

RobinsBaubleSparkles · 03/01/2013 18:51

My mum ALWAYS leaves a bit of coffee in her cup. It drives me insane because she leaves it on the side without tipping the coffee into the sink, I don't realise and fill the sink to wash up, put all the pots in and end up tipping the coffee into the washing up water meaning that I have to empty it and re-wash the pots that got covered in coffee! Grr.

Even worse is when someone leaves soup or cereal. Where do I tip the leftovers? I can't tip it into the sink because the cereal/vegetables will block the drain and I can't tip it into the bin because the milk/soup will make a right mess! So I have to stand there scooping pieces out with a spoon into the bin before I can tip the liquid into the sink!

Alisvolatpropiis · 03/01/2013 20:26

When I mentioned anything, anything at all to do with law and my DP says "ah yes but in the Magna Carta".

He's very intelligent,is a historian. Doesn't know that much about law. I do. He secretly hates it so has to bring up the Magna Carta (my theory). My Tudor period knowledge trounces his too Grin

When people come to spend time with me and then spend ages talking on their phone. Not texting a few times, full blown conversations, whilst I sit there twiddling my thumbs.

When people speak to shop/restaurant/cleaning staff like shit. Hate it.

Alisvolatpropiis · 03/01/2013 20:29

Fobbly completely agree about the dates!

3birthdaybunnies · 03/01/2013 20:34

Leaving empty cartons out in bathroom/kitchen rather than putting them 2m away in bin/recycling.

running the tap full blast while brushing teeth

leaving all the lights on in an empty house

There, said it now, and breathe!

HollyTheHedgehog · 03/01/2013 21:00

I was thinking about starting a thread like this earlier.

My DP is great but little things do bug me.

He leaves all cupboard doors open 1-2 inches. WHY?

When starting a new margarine he'll pull back the gold foil slightly and put it back rather than just taking it off and putting it in the bastard bin!

He'll not wash his hands after usinv the toilet. If I point it out, he'll dip his finger tips under the water. That REALLY pisses me off.

He'll leave the TV on all night. (He sleeps downstairs to get a full nights sleep while im sorting out the baby) but he'll claim he 'just turned it on' if I mention t at 5am or 3am
