to stick this Royal Mail sticker on my letter box

So Royal Mail are now legally permitted to leave your post with a neighbour (hah! like that's stopped them in the past!) I have an eBay addiction so I don't want my many, many parcels left with my neighbours (who I don't know very well). So I've requested this opt-out sticker which Royal Mail say I need to stick on my letter box. When they see it, will my neighbours think I'm being rude? Are these stickers a sign of an unfriendly neighbourhood?

I'd be relieved. Not interested in being a mail holding facility for neighbours.

My postie is lovely and leaves parcels in my childrens playhouse in the garden. Caused a problem once when he didn't put a card through my door and I didn't realise it was there though, but once is better than having to keep traipsing down to the sorting office. I certainly would not be happy for them to be left with neighbours.

Thanks to this thread i have just registered for a sticker.

I am fed up being told that my parcel has been delivered but having no clue where it is, or not knowing that a neighbour has had a parcel for 3 days (if i get it at all) because the postman has failed to put a card through the door.

I wouldnt be offended if any of my neighbours had one if these stickers either as i would rather not be responsible for thier parcels.
