To be annoyed that DP doesn't believe anything on MN?

Every single thing on MN he thinks is made up. He asks me what I'm reading, then laughs and tells me how of course it's made up and I'm stupid to get sucked in/reply. I'm not talking trip-trap threads either, just everyday things like what people are having for dinner.

But if I don't tell him what I'm reading, he gets all huffy so I can't win Hmm.

AIBU to be annoyed that he doubts everything? It's not just on MN, on tv, when someone cries he always says it's fake. I find it quite irritating, especially when someone is clearly crying real tears on a documentary or for something genuinely emotional.

have you really got a DP at all? Hmm

perhaps you are just imagining yourself (and me).

pfft! Mumsnet vanishes in puff of smoke leaving only Grin

GregBishopsBottomBitch · 03/01/2013 00:20

I know someone who said that Jade Goodys cancer was made up as a publicity stunt. One hell of a publicity stunt that turned out to be.

Yeah shaving your head, telling your kids and then dying, what a way to get publicity.

ResolutelyCheeky · 03/01/2013 00:25

I'm imaginary....who said that? Hmm

ShellyBoobs · 03/01/2013 00:46

I do find it bizarre how regularly people here say, "Show him this thread..." when an OP has garnered opinion from MNers over a disgreement with their DH.

If I said to my OH, "Look, this is what MN thinks" after a disagreement, he would literally piss himself.

To a lot of people, this is just words on a computer screen like any other forum. It's not real life.

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 03/01/2013 01:23

My DP thinks MN is rubbish. Me. I've just read another thread where someone could conceivably have had there life saved by MNers advice. I think MN ROCKS! DP doesnt know what he is on about.

Cortana · 03/01/2013 01:29

YANBU.

So you have to tell him so he can tell you it's bumpf. Nice.

DP keeps making noises about joining. He also sat with me today and went awwww when we read the story of someones sister being allowed to dress a frodo for the posters wedding. DP also suggests I ask MINUTE if we need advice. Usually housekeeping or cookery.

Cortana · 03/01/2013 01:30

Mumsnet not minute. DYAC!

Tallalime · 03/01/2013 01:34

I bookmarked AIBU on our PC am lurkiest lurker that ever did lurk until recently and my beloved husband has changed the bookmark to read 'I Am Being Unreasonable' subtitle 'Busy bodies network'

Perhaps even more shamefully it took me 3 months to notice Blush

WankbadgersBreakfast · 03/01/2013 01:37

DP once rubbished mn. I pointed out that he moderates a blokey forum with much the same purpose.
He doesn't spout that bullshit any more Grin

SoleSource · 03/01/2013 01:39

My therapist doesn't believe it here, says most of it.you shouldn't believe.

OldMacEIEIO · 03/01/2013 02:00

I dont even bother to read or post on MN
I get my Butler to do it

MammaTJ · 03/01/2013 03:08

Exactly GregBishopsBottomBitch some real desperate publicity seekers out there.

I fell out with him about other things shortly after or would have reminded him about what he said later on!

InNeedOfBrandy · 03/01/2013 06:15

Oh I forgot about the wright stuff researchers...

Thumbwitch · 03/01/2013 06:27

Honey, good to see your DH has as daft problems as you do! Xmas Wink

IME, some of the more unbelievable stuff is most likely to be true - people I know in real life have had the weirdest stuff happen to them that would definitely get people's trolldars zinging if it were posted on here!

Your DP is just using MN as an excuse to belittle you. Ignore him or give him a pitying side head tilt and ask "Did you mean to be so rude?" He's being knobbish.

Boomerwang · 03/01/2013 08:22

Being fair to him, a lot on these forums does sound a bit incredible.

I think it's better than a soap opera.

Post a story about him and we'll decide if we believe it or not :P

JenaiMorris · 03/01/2013 21:55

There is an awful lot of bullshit on MN written by fantasists to inflame the pearl clutchers.

I turn my browser to private for mumsnet now so that DP doesn't look through thread titles in my browser history and get all worried/scoff (as has happened). He always thinks I read threads because they reflect what's going on in my life/heart.

MushroomSoup · 03/01/2013 22:58

I actually really am famous (quite) - well, you will all have heard of me in rl. I am known for my body and looks. It's quite refreshing to come on MN and just be 'one of the crowd', where I can give my opinion without being treated like a bimbo.

MushroomSoup · 03/01/2013 22:59

I may actually have made that up.
