to not think this beauty product is a scam? (dark circles)

xameliax · 01/01/2013 23:47

I have dark circles, and it really is the bane of my life.

I've managed to get rid of the pigmentation through a dermatologist.

They are lighter but still there unfortunately.

I have used countless creams and gels etc and have come to realise that for anything to work it would need to prescribed, not bought over a counter.

However I've done some research and found what seems to be the holy grail. Out of 87 reviews, it has 75 rating it 5 stars.

Should I buy it and see for myself or just think that it's probably just another beauty scam claiming to do something that is pretty much impossible?

jamie no it is much worse than that...it has potentially active ingredients that potentially mess with your DNA replication. Other things that mess with your DNA replication include UV light, x-rays, carcinogens and you know anything else that gives you cancer.

Of course they probably aren't actually active ingredients...in which case the likelihood of cancer is vastly reduced...and so is the probability that you aren't being fleeced magnificently for moisturiser.

Would not recommend.

JamieandtheMagiTorch · 02/01/2013 14:16

Even the packaging is bollox. Shaped like a syringe? Please!!!!

JamieandtheMagiTorch · 02/01/2013 14:18

Icb

I bow to your scientific knowledge. That is worrying. I spose i always assume that they would be lying about the amount of any potentially active ingredient

I am very cynical

Pinot · 02/01/2013 14:22

Is this thread an advert for the product? Confused

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 02/01/2013 14:22

If that stuff contains one molecule of active DNA changing ingredient my name is Bernard.

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 02/01/2013 14:23

Haha yes pinot, probably, it reeled us all in. Grin

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/01/2013 14:31

Yeah, we're all rushing out and buying it now, eh?

Hmm Grin

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 02/01/2013 14:33

Oh no, we are all pretty scathing. Grin

but I didn't suspect it was an ad until pinot suggested it might be.

It's all a load of boswellox.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/01/2013 14:37

I, erm, did.

Grin

Do I get points?! MNHQ? Do I?

I never spot the off ones.

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2013 14:37
Grin

I though it was a scam ad until I skim read it.

'Tis of course bolleux. That's more impressive, as forrin, for bollox btw.

Pinot · 02/01/2013 14:38

Gerrofffffffff I had a thread with you IN THE TITLE, but you did not come and play. Boo.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 02/01/2013 14:39

I want to know what the op's dermatologist did to reduce the purple bastards.

JamieandtheMagiTorch · 02/01/2013 14:40

If it's an ad they have seriously underestimated our intelligence .....

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/01/2013 14:43

May I interest you ladies in my production, the SuperRetinol (TM) version of the famous Bolleux, developed and patented by the famous Professor Pacific, from finest natural extracts of Dogwood?

It has been clinically proven on a trial of 1.3 women and a stray labradoodle to be 110% more effective than the normal 'bollox' on the market and excellent value for money.

JamieandtheMagiTorch · 02/01/2013 14:46

LRD

I will buy it, but only if it comes in a veeeeeeery small glass pot made of Swarovski crystall etched with a double helix, and competitively priced at just £99.99

JamieandtheMagiTorch · 02/01/2013 14:47

Oh and it must be advertised by 17 year old.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/01/2013 14:47

Mais oui! Naturellement!

It is in a very tiny pot, but it does come with many, many excellent leaflets advising you of our other excellent products, Snake Oil, Bullshit, and YouveGottaBeKiddinMe.

JamieandtheMagiTorch · 02/01/2013 14:50

Does it imporve the appearance of fine wines?

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2013 14:53

No, but your appearance improves no end with the internal use of fine, or not so fine, wines.
LRD, we could market this on QVC, non??

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/01/2013 14:56

If it's 'imporving' their appearance, jamie, I'm not sure you need the fine wines! Wink

Ahem.

Doubtless it does.

pacific - you're on. We will be rich beyond the dreams of average!

JamieandtheMagiTorch · 02/01/2013 14:59

Ponit taken

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2013 15:01

Ah, at least the appearance of riches beyond our dreams Grin.

I could never fly Ryanair again... . I digress, sorry, recent trauma.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/01/2013 15:04

Grin at jamie.

Ryanair?! Confused

How did that get in to this?

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2013 15:07

Sorry, ignore me, 'twas the riches that got me all distracted and thread-derailly Blush.

xameliax · 02/01/2013 15:20

I know you're all just having a joke but it's such an important thing to me.

I have had dark circles since the age of 10, it has wrecked my self confidence and being name called constantly and people started rumours saying I was a drug addict at school, I've even having strangers in the street walk up to me and say things.

I didn't have my first boyfriend until the age of 22 because I believed no one could possibly find me attractive. Even now if I get a compliment I do graciously accept and say thank you - but in my mind I'm thinking wtf??

My used obagi for the pigmentation and then elure which really helped. I then had a laser treatment to start circulation. I also keep them hydrated during the day using an victim C moisturiser.

And yet I still have them.

Maybe I am just vain, but when I look in the mirror all I want to do is cry.
