commiserations.

Some nights I have felt like I am trying to sleep on an airport runway.

Although.....I am kind of missing the noise, DH slept downstairs for a couple of weeks to keep an eye on his mum, and has carried on sleeping downstairs this week in case the hospital rings so he can hear the phone.

He may be a rowdy sleeper, but he is also warm and fuzzy ....and I miss him.

I recommend balancing a pillow on their face. It muffles it. Balancing, not pushing down hard in sleep deprivation rage. I swear.

I really feel for you OP.

I say that as a terrible snorer myself.

I get really stressed at bedtime because I know I am going to do it and my poor partner is going to suffer.

Hope you get time for a rumble free nap later and can catch up on what you have missed.

I also feel for you OP - I am a terrible snorer - and I have a cold at the moment, so even worse! I do feel sorry for my DH.

However, like spacegirl, I have become completely stressed at bedtime because the family made such a bog deal about it on Xmas eve and now I find I cannot sleep properly and wake 20-30 times a night in case I am snoring. This means I am completely knackered and teary from lack of sleep. Tonight I am going to sleep in the spare room so I can snore away without worrying I am disturbing anyone. Its no fun for us snorers either.

a big deal, not bog deal

Yeah right! Maybe you, but my DH manages a lovely nights rest snoring away oblivious to the world around him. Unfortunately for me, both my children snore too. Must be a genetic problem. My dh's whole family are snorers too.

again not unless you are my DH who sleeps soundly within minutes of his head hitting the pillow. He says he has no problem with his snoring, its me with the problem so I need to find the solution.......ie sleep on sofa, never have a lie in, go to bed really early to get to sleep before him! He is not a considerate snorer Sad

maisiejoe123 · 30/12/2012 13:36

I have had to move into the spare room (which is very comfortable!) The snorer never seems to have a problem - they get to sleep in a flash and have no real interest in curing the problem which is the most irriating thing. The children wont share a room with him if we are on holiday and I hear him joking about it. ITS NOT FUNNY! There are plenty of things you can do from sewing a tennis ball in the back of pyjamas to going to the doctor - neither of which my DH will do.

I think I will be staying in the spare room....

Get some ear plugs.

I was being woken up numerous times a night, I nearly smothered him numerous a few times and was at the end of my tether.

They are amazing, I don't hear a thing now, I wake up feeling refreshed and not as if I've slept next to a pneumatic drill!!

maisiejoe123 · 30/12/2012 13:48

I have tried ear plugs. It just muffles as opposed to stops the noise completely. I know that some people find ear plugs good but I do think it depends on the shape of your ears! I even went onto a specialist website that have different grades of plugs and I ordered a mixed pack but sadly they didnt work!
