I've just taken my DD to watch Rise of the Guardians. We liked the film.
Booking online was no problem. When we went to collect tickets, there was a message on the ticket collection machine that there was a problem with the heating in the screen we were in. People were allowed to see how warm the room was before booking their tickets if they wished (not useful for us as we'd booked online).
I asked at the kiosk how cold it was. We were told the message had gone up for when it was really chilly last week, but that it wasn't bad this week. We were also told that if we were cold in the first 20 mins or so, we could leave and get a refund.
We went in and the room seemed fine to start with. On reflection, this was probably because they had propped open the double doors while it was being cleaned and all through the adverts/trailers etc and it had got some warmth from the outside.
As the film went on it did get noticeably colder and my DD felt cold on her hands and feet. She didn't want to leave and had taken her fleece blanket with her (and her pillow!) but was still not warm. I had my coat over my legs and was proper chilly by about halfway through the film.
I've emailed to complain. I'm not sure I'll get anywhere. But it made me feel better!
I'm surprised that there was no mention of the problem when booking.
The 20 mins offer was of no use when it didn't get much colder til a lot later.
They could have shut that screen, or only used it for much more popular films (more bodies = warmer room). Or got in some other form of heating.
Brrrrr
