injustice, favouritism and inequality?
I don't promote DDs belief either way as I don't want her to ruin it for other kids but I don't really comment if she talks of him.
Thinking about it, when children see or hear what others got for christmas how do you explain it?
Why did FC give X this that and the other but I got "this". Of course you can say your reasons and justify it but will they not left feeling that FC favours others if they didn't get much?

Kids don't think in that way like adults do
And they tend to 'find out' before they'd compare prices of toys

Dd decided a couple of years ago that although Santa brings presents we pay for everything and that is why some people get more or less than others

peaceandlovebunny · 26/12/2012 13:10

it promotes greed. and false values - 'must be good or santa won't bring my presents'.

Sorry Gumby, they do. Many children I know wanted an Ipad and knew they were expensive. (some got one too)!

I prefer to downplay Santa to stockings and maybe one present and emphasise people buying gifts for those they love and receiving them from those who love them.
